Proudly March-ing into Women’s History Month 🩷
This month’s edition of the FOCUS Series features Chitra Ganesh’s multi-influenced work, deriving inspiration from contemporary social theory, mythology, and Bollywood, bringing the perspectives of her New York City upbringing paired with many travels to India.
“Teri Mefhil”, an acrylic on board painting by Ganesh, features the two lead woman roles of a classic Bollywood film, the title of the painting referencing the soundtrack as these women duel for love. Having two female leads duet is rare in this genre of film-making, making the intertwined stars featured in this painting even more remarkable.
