The 2018 Rugby Championship was the seventh edition of the expanded annual southern hemisphere Rugby Championship, featuring Argentina, Australia, South Africa and New Zealand. The competition is operated by SANZAAR, a joint venture of the four countries' national unions. New Zealand won the Championship for the sixth time after a 35-17 win over Argentina in Buenos Aires on 29 September.

Dal punto di vista statistico il torneo fu caratterizzato dalla prima sconfitta neozelandese dal Championship 2015 e quindici vittorie consecutive; avvenne in casa contro il Sudafrica, vittorioso nella terra degli All Blacks nove anni addietro per l'ultima volta.Nella stessa giornata anche l'Australia perse in casa contro l'Argentina, che così ripeté l'impresa già compiuta nel 1983 quando i Pumas vinsero al Ballymore di Brisbane. Tali vittorie non cambiarono tuttavia l'esito del torneo: gli All Blacks vinsero proprio in casa dell'Argentina nel quinto turno e si assicurarono il sedicesimo titolo con una gara ancora da disputare rendendo del tutto platonica la vittoria all'ultima giornata in casa sudafricana con lo stesso scarto (due punti) di quella subita poche settimane addietro dagli stessi Springbok. Il valore delle marcature, come stabilito da World Rugby nel 2017, è: 5 punti per ciascuna meta (7 se trasformata), 7 punti per la meta tecnica, 3 punti per la realizzazione di ciascun calcio piazzato, idem per il drop. Turniej odbył się systemem ligowym pomiędzy 18 sierpnia a 6 października 2018 roku. Wliczając turnieje w poprzedniej formie, od czasów Pucharu Trzech Narodów, była to dwudziesta trzecia edycja tych zawodów. Zwycięzca meczu zyskiwał cztery punkty, za remis przysługiwały dwa punkty, porażka nie była punktowana, a zdobycie przynajmniej trzech przyłożeń więcej od rywali lub przegrana nie więcej niż siedmioma punktami premiowana była natomiast punktem bonusowym. Poszczególne związki kolejno wyznaczały stadiony na swoje domowe spotkania, a ostateczny harmonogram gier został opublikowany w kwietniu 2018 roku. W lipcu 2018 roku wyznaczono sędziów zawodów. Na kolejkę przed końcem zawodów triumf zapewnili sobie Nowozelandczycy. (pl)
