- Das Maillon Rapide (frz.: Schnellkettenglied) ist ein Verbindungsstück für Ketten, das auch in der Kletterei Anwendung findet. Es wird auch Mayo genannt. Dies kommt von der englischen Aussprache des französischen Wortes Maillon. Im deutschen Sprachraum wird das Maillon Rapide oft auch als Schraubkettenglied oder Schnellverbindungsglied bezeichnet. Weitere gebräuchliche Bezeichnungen sind Kettenverbinder, Kettenschraubverschluss oder Kettennotglied. Kettennotglieder gibt es ebenfalls in Form eines aufgebogenen Kettenglieds. Kettbiner sind Feuerwehrkarabiner mit Schraubverschluss, die einem Kettenschraubverschluss sehr ähnlich sind. (de)

Maillons have a threaded sleeve which tightens over a thread, as opposed to a hinged gate like a carabiner, making them stronger, but more difficult to use. Like carabiners, maillons are available in a range of shapes and thicknesses (i.e., strengths), and often offer greater versatility over carabiners as their different shapes and lack of hinged gates allow them to be used in multi-directional load situations. W odróżnieniu od zamka w karabinkach, który otwiera się na zawiasie i jest zamykany sprężyną, maillon ma gwintowany zamek. Dzięki temu jest wytrzymalszy, lecz trudniejszy w użyciu. Podobnie jak karabinki, maillony występują w różnych kształtach i grubościach.
