- Das Internationale Filmfest Oldenburg (Oldenburg International Film Festival) ist ein deutsches Festival für unabhängige Filmproduktionen. Es findet seit 1994 jährlich über fünf Tage in der zweiten Septemberwoche in Oldenburg statt. Der Schwerpunkt des Festivals liegt bei deutschen und amerikanischen Produktionen, die mehr als die Hälfte des Programms ausmachen. Gezeigt werden rund 50 Filme und etwa 20 Kurzfilme. Weiter stehen Sonderreihen, Tributes und Retrospektiven zu Ehren außergewöhnlicher Filmemacher und Schauspieler auf dem Programm. Das Festival wurde 2015 vom MovieMaker Magazin unter die „25 Coolest Film Festivals in the World“ gewählt. The Hollywood Reporter schreibt über das Filmfest Oldenburg "Ein Festival, das mit seinem schieren Ideenreichtum, seiner Verspieltheit und seiner Affinität für intelligente Genre Kost etwas einzigartiges auf dem weltweiten Festivalzirkel ist und schon immer war." und ordnet Oldenburg als "One of the leading indie film fests." ein. Se lleva a cabo anualmente durante cinco días en la segunda semana de septiembre en Oldemburgo, Baja Sajonia, desde 1994. El foco del festival está en las producciones alemanas y estadounidenses, que representan más de la mitad del programa. Se proyectarán alrededor de 50 películas y alrededor de 20 cortometrajes. También hay series especiales, homenajes y retrospectivas en honor a cineastas y actores excepcionales. - The Oldenburg International Film Festival has covered the international movie scene in all aspects since 1994. It is situated in Oldenburg, Germany. Its open-minded approach leads to a mixture of movie premieres and original independent productions. Innovation and contrarian ideas are some features of the festival. Among the guests of honor were Alex Cox, Frank Oz, James B. Harris, Tim Hunter, Belgian cult director Harry Kümel, Jim McBride, Philippe de Broca, Andrzej Żuławski, Ken Russell, Jerry Schatzberg and Ovidio G. Assonitis who have all attended the festival for the retrospectives of their work. Icíar Bollaín, Seymour Cassel, Asia Argento, Stacy Cochran, Richard Stanley, Ben Gazzara, Larry Clark, Tim Blake Nelson as well as Luke and Andrew Wilson have attended the festival for tributes in their honor. Internationally acclaimed films, such as Park Chan-wook’s The Handmaiden, Takeshi Kitano’s Kids Return, David Cronenberg’s Spider, Kevin Spacey’s Albino Alligator, Steven Soderbergh’s Out of Sight, Larry Clark’s Ken Park, Luke and Andrew Wilson’s The Wendell Baker Story, and The Fountain by Darren Aronofsky or indie hits like Larry Fessenden’s Habit, Cory McAbee’s The American Astronaut, Michael Polish’s Northfork, Paul Provenza’s The Aristocrats, and ’s Four Eyed Monsters or The Guatemalan Handshake by Todd Rohal, received their German premiere in Oldenburg. - Het International Film Festival Oldenburg of Internationaal filmfestival van Oldenburg (Duits: Internationales Filmfest Oldenburg) is een onafhankelijk filmfestival, dat sinds 1994 jaarlijks in de Noord-Duitse stad Oldenburg plaatsvindt. Elk jaar in de tweede week van september ligt de bijzondere aandacht voor vijf dagen op de internationale filmscene met het zwaartepunt op Amerikaanse onafhankelijke films, welke meer dan de helft van de gepresenteerde producties uitmaken.Jaarlijkse retrospectieven en tributes eren uitzonderlijke filmmakers en acteurs. Het programma bestaat uit ongeveer vijftig lange films en twintig korte films.
