Abstract

It is our great pleasure to welcome you to the 2013 ACM International Conference on Hybrid Systems: Computation and Control -- HSCC'13. This year's conference continues its tradition of being the premier forum for presentation of basic and applied research that combines computer science and control theory for analysis and controls of dynamical systems that exhibit continuous, discrete, or combined (hybrid) dynamics. The mission of the conference is to bring together researchers from academia and industry to discuss computational challenges arising in both manmade, cyber-physical systems (ranging from mixed signal circuits and small robots to global infrastructure networks) and natural systems (ranging from biochemical networks to physiological models).

The call for papers attracted 86 submissions from Asia, Europe, and the United States. The program committee accepted 30 regular papers and 10 tool and case study papers that cover a variety of topics, including analysis, control, scheduling, formal verification, synthesis, abstraction, and learning for hybrid systems. The applications include robotics, networks, biology, and medicine. In addition, the program includes a poster session for tool and case study papers and work-in-progress discussions and an invited presentation by Aaron Ames from Texas A&M University.
