applyElement method

Browser support:

Inserts the specified element as a child or parent of the current element.

This method is only supported by Internet Explorer, use the appendChild or insertBefore method to add an element as a child to an element.

Syntax:

object.applyElement (elementToAdd [, where]);

Parameters:

elementToAdd

Required. Reference to the element to add.

where

Optional. String that indicates whether the specified element needs to be inserted as a child or as the parent of the current element.

One of the following values:

inside

The specified element needs to be inserted as a child of the current element.

outside

Default. The specified element needs to be inserted as a parent of the current element.

Return value:

Returns the inserted element.
