An affordable, inclusive and equitable healthcare system is the aspiration and need of today’sIndia and other developing countries. Digital healthcare is a game-changer in this regard because of its ability to scale to billions of people without corresponding scaling of physical infrastructure and human resources and can contribute significantly to healthcare equity. The challenge of ensuring health equity through digital health can only be addressed by creating an ecosystem with all stakeholders and by fostering capacity building, indigenous innovative R&D initiatives, start-up and entrepreneurships. Such efforts also need to be supported by awareness drives, data sharing through open source communities, participatory healthcare and regulatory reforms.
