After quite a few years working as a software developer in the telecom industry, these days I spend most of my time doing research at the CHILI research lab in EPFL, in Switzerland, as I did with the GSIC-EMIC research group at the University of Valladolid, Spain. There, we work on ways of enhancing learning and teaching with new technology like wearable sensors, or augmented paper tangible interfaces. My main research interests include multimodal teaching analytics, teacher professional development, distributed learning environments, uses of augmented reality and "paper computing" in education, and lifelong learning.
Indeed, learning ('lifelong learning' seems a bit redundant to me) is my main hobby and interest, be it learning languages, new skills, scholarly topics, anything.
Another place I learned a lot lately is with the people of Artenativ, an acapella-meets-theater-meets-clown-meets-percussion group. Other past musical endeavors of mine include Sygmalion (solo project), Sed, Mind Traveller, Istar...
