A Big Win at the Capstone Expo

At the inaugural Clark School of Engineering Capstone Design Expo, a bioengineering team received the top prize of Dean's Award for their innovative device that empowers bystanders and non-EMTs to properly and safely provide overdose victims with rescue breaths.

Erika Moore Named a TED Fellow

Moore is one of only 11 individuals selected for the 2024 TED Fellows program, which considered more than 6,000 applicants. She is the first TED Fellow at UMD.

Bioengineering researchers are investigating how to connect electronics with living biological systems. Most recently, they've developed a functional medium of communication between these two different systems.
