Welcome to the Genomic and Proteomic Knowledge Base (GPKB)
The GPKB is based on the Genomic and Proteomic Data Warehouse (GPDW), created by integrating data and external references from several databases, including:
- Entrez Gene
- UniProt
- IntAct
- Expasy Enzyme
- GO
- GOA
- BioCyc
- KEGG
* - Reactome
- OMIM
*
All integrated data were downloaded from their original database on March 8th, 2016.
* KEGG and OMIM data are from their last publicly available version downloaded on March 18th, 2011.
The GPDW has two main parts:
- GPKB Data: where all the different types of integrated data are stored together with the annotations inferred based on the original integrated data.
- Metadata: where information about the GPKB data are stored, such as name of the included data sources and their provided features, or values of flag fields (i.e. fields that act as labels for other fields (data fields) in a data record), and so on.
