Former corporate executive turned filmmaker, Bernie made a significant life shift to pursue a lifelong passion for film.
While on sabbatical in 2017 he enrolled in Film School at Scottsdale's School of Film + Theater, where he studied cinematography, lighting, film theory, history of film, screenwriting, and motion picture production.
His first exposure to film was the film Raising Buchanan (2019), a transformative experience that solidified his love for the craft and inspired U-Turn Motion Pictures, an embodiment of his personal and professional U-turn.
Since then he has been working on films as a director of photography for Anti Corona Virus (2020), House of Quarantine (2020), Instant Karma (2021), Reflect (2023) and Woman into the Maze (2023), Fortis Famina (2023) and contributed as the Production Designer on the Last Movie Ever Made (2023).
Bernie continues to dive into a diverse range of projects, including a fantasy family-friendly film with an all-Latino cast, a film about Columbian female assassins based in the 90s, and a physiological thriller about a true life story of a couple held hostage in their home as they struggle to survive.
