Su-Elise was born in Dulwich, London on 22 May 1981, and shot to fame
in the group Mis-Teeq. She was studying for a business degree at
Middlesex University, with the intention of setting up a dance school,
when she met the other band members. Mis-Teeq formed in 1999, and
released their smash singles 'Why?' in 2000, reaching number 8 in the
charts and 'All I Want' the following year, which smashed their last
record charting at number 2. This huge success was followed by their
albums 'Lickin' On Both Sides' in 2001 and 'Eye Candy' in 2003.
Mis-Teeq also saw instant international success with their third single
'One Night Stand', which reached number 5 in the UK chart but also
entered the top 20 in Australia, New Zealand, Norway and Denmark.
Mis-Teeq gained huge notoriety and won several awards including (MOBO's
Capital FM, UK Garage Awards, Maxim Woman of the Year Awards among
others). She also performed at the Brit Awards and The Queen's Jubilee
Concert.
The band split in February 2005, and Su-Elise went back to college and studied for her teaching qualifications to become a principal, despite being the oldest person in her classes, her determination and ambition enabled her to gain a Cert. Ed. in dance, specifically imperial classical ballet, tap and modern dance. in 2007 she opened her very own performing arts school called the Su-Elise Stage School.
In her professional life, Su-Elise has done presenting for 'The Dance Off Awards' in 2007, the 'Virgin Mobile Bites' and the 'BBC Jam'. She has performed in several theatre and musical productions including 'Carmen Jones' at the 'Old Vic Theatre', 'Faust' also at the 'Old Vic Theatre', 'The Children's Royal Variety Show' at 'The London Palladium' and 'Alice In Wonderland' with 'The Lewis London Ballet Company'. Most recently, she was seen by thousands judging on 'Britain's Next Urban Superstar!' and in 2009 is presenting on 'FLAVA' music channel.
