Stefan Weerarathna is a Sri Lankan/Burgher actor, writer and producer (He/Him) based in Melbourne, Australia. He is represented by McMahon Management and has worked actively in the industry for over 9 years across television and film.
Stefan received a Diploma of Screen & Media at Melbourne Polytechnic in 2013 and continues his training as an actor in the Film and Television Studio International under the guidance of some of Australia's most celebrated industry professionals (Craig McMahon, Kym Valentine, Eve Morey, Bernard Curry) and has trained under master dialect coach Tyler Coppin in the US accent.
Credits include Rostered On (Netflix/7mate), My Life Is Murder (Network 10), Find Me A Dream Home (9Now), The Casting Couch (Ozflix) as well as Fuming (Award Winner - Melbourne Queer Film Festival 'Keep the Vibe Alive' 2019) Peach PRC & Mia Rodriguez (Each video surpassing 1 million views worldwide on YouTube) and Coles Car Insurance, Metricon Homes, Officeworks, UberEats, Sportsbet, Johnnie Walker, and Holey Moley Golf.
In 2021 Stefan produced, wrote and played the main character of Knight in the Award Winning film Fracture which just had it's Australian Premiere at the 2021 Monster Fest with the festival celebrating its 10th Anniversary. The action crime film has also been positively received in the US with the film being Officially Selected for AOF MegaFest XVIII 2021 in Las Vegas, Urban Action Showcase International Action Film Festival in New York and winning 'Best Action Short' at the Imagine Rain Independent Film Awards in Saratoga.
Stefan has spent years developing his skills in both Muay Thai, Boxing and Kickboxing and continues to develop his range across all forms of martial arts. In between training he has a huge passion for fitness and cooking and is developing another film Recruitment which blends together his deep admiration for action, sci-fi and thrillers. The film is in production and scheduled to shoot in 2022.
