Orthotics, Scoliosis, Pectus, Flat Head Syndrome, Craniosynostosis & Club Foot.

Founded in 2004, the London Orthotic Consultancy is a private clinic that provides bespoke orthotic treatments for a wide range of adult and paediatric medical conditions.

Being a truly independent clinic allows us to prescribe the orthotics we believe are most suitable for our patients, rather than being restricted to a limited, specified corporate range. We are passionate about innovative and evidence-based orthotic solutions and their capabilities to improve lives. Conditions like pectus deformities and scoliosis can now be treated very successfully without surgery with the bespoke braces that we manufacture on-site at our headquarters clinic in Kingston.

Voted Best Orthotic Treatment Group 2023 in the Southern Enterprise Awards.

ORTHOTICS

Our highly qualified clinicians can assess, make and fit bespoke orthotic treatments for a wide range of adult orthotic and paediatric orthotic conditions, including cerebral palsy, spina bifida, drop foot and spinal injury.

Our in-house manufacturing workshop and 3D printing workshop allow us to manufacture the highest quality bespoke orthotics.

SCOLIOSIS

LOC has pioneered non-surgical treatment for scoliosis in the UK.

We use the best evidence-based bracing techniques based upon Cheneau-Gensingen methodology.

We use this brace in combination with scoliosis physiotherapy to ensure the best possible outcomes, treating all age groups from three to ninety three.

PLAGIOCEPHALY

LOC has more experience in treating positional plagiocephaly / flat head syndrome than any other UK clinic.

Numerous studies show cranial remoulding therapy as an effective treatment for infants up to 16 months.

Our LOCband cranial helmets use the latest scanning & 3D printing/additive manufacturing techniques.

CLUB FOOT

Club Foot (Talipes) is a condition affecting around one in every 1,000 babies born in the UK.

The Ponseti method is well established as the gold standard treatment for club foot around the world.

LOC has pioneered the use of the Cunningham Brace as the final phase of this treatment replacing the traditional boots and bar approach.

PECTUS

LOC introduced its non-surgical treatment for pectus deformities (chest) back in 2010.

The treatment for pectus carinatum involves wearing a bespoke Dynamic Chest Compressor brace in conjunction with tailored exercises.

Pectus excavatum patients are treated with the Vacuum Bell orthosis. The flexibility of the chest is key meaning older patients can also benefit.

OSKAR

OSKAR stands for Optimal Segmental Kinematics and Alignment Approach to Rehabilitation.

It is an approach to rehabilitation within a specialised clinic that treats children with lower limb neurological conditions such as cerebral palsy & spina bifida.

OSKAR was originally devised by Elaine Owen who was awarded an MBE for her services to children with disability.
