HISTORY OF COLLABORATION
CNRS-MAP and CNR-ISTI are collaborating since 2012. They have been joint partners in the EC “3DICONS” and “PARTHENOS” projects as well as in the CNRS funded project “FIAT LUX”. CNR-ISTI and CNRS-MAP have both a large network of international scientific collaborations and contributed jointly to the creation and organization of a major scientific event, the UNESCO/IEEE/Eurographics Digital Heritage International Congress (held in Marseille on 2013, chaired by de Luca, CNRS; and in Granada in 2015, chaired by Scopigno, CNR). At the end of 2016, CNR-ISTI and CNRS-MAP submitted and won a project within the CNR call for proposal of joint-lab projects (equivalent of the CNRS LIA call).

SCIENTIFIC PROGRAM
The aim of this joint lab project is to integrate the skills and previous expertise of two international leaders, the labs CNRS-MAP and CNR-ISTI VCL, to design new solutions making massive acquisition (and collaborative analysis) really possible in the near future. The main objectives of this collaboration are the design of new practical approaches for high-fidelity digitisation, new approaches for color/reflectance sampling, and innovative tools for web-based collaborative use and semantic enrichment of the 3D models.
OBJECTIVES
This joint-lab initiative will introduce a methodological scaffolding, built on operative toolkits, for promoting large-scale cross experiences aimed at federating, on the long-term, research efforts towards the creation of a crowd-sourced library of 3D digitisations of Cultural Heritage Artefacts for multidisciplinary studies.
