The association is now pressing charges against Le Scouarnec for "bringing the medical profession into disrepute," the body's secretary Didier Robin said on Monday.

In October last year Davies's predecessor, Byron Davies, complained about a different social media post on the Wales Office account, which he said broke civil service code, and brought the government department into disrepute.

The panel concluded his actions were of a "sexual nature" and amounted to unacceptable professional conduct which may bring the profession into disrepute.

However, the panel found his actions brought the reputation of teaching into disrepute and said his conduct "fell significantly short of the standards expected of the profession".
