Metal matrix composites (MMCs) are lightweight, hard materials applied in heavy-duty applications... more Metal matrix composites (MMCs) are lightweight, hard materials applied in heavy-duty applications such as automobile, aerospace, and electronics, as well as sports equipment. MMCs reveal exceptional physical and mechanical properties, including high strength, corrosion, wear resistance, higher stiffness, and toughness. However, owing to poor surface finish, accelerated tool wear, and high material removal cost, MMCs are categorized as difficult-to-cut composites. This article reviews sustainable machining under different lubrication and cooling approaches and the economics of the operation for MMCs. The study focuses on optimizing machinability factors, such as surface integrity, chip formation, tool wear, and sustainability analysis. To attain this goal, the review evaluates suitable cutting parameters for Aluminum, Titanium, Magnesium, and Copper-based metal matrix composites, which hitherto have not been explored or summarized comprehensively. This study provides strong guidance ...

The study was performed based on different cutting parameters (cutting speed vc, feed per tooth fz, and axial depth of cut ap, 1mm, and width of cut ae 8mm,) and cutting environments adopted as Dry MQL and CO2 Snow to analyze the effect of lubri-cooling machining process using polycrystalline diamond (PCD) cutting tools. A total of 18 experiments were performed during milling of SiCp/Al (65%) with each experimental run involved the 321 mm3 of the volume of material removal. The study found that lubrication and cooling can effectively reduce the tool wear and improve the tool life up to 29% for SiCp65% on moderate cutting parameters. The major wear mechanisms of PCD cutting tools are perceived as abrasive wear and adhesive wear mechanisms, which develop the flank wear and build-up-edge formations. ...

The user has the option to enter subjective QoE data for video service by filling out a web questionnaire. The objective QoE data of the cloud-server, network condition, and the user device is automatically captured by the crowdsourcing platform. Our proposed system collects both objective and subjective QoE simultaneously in real-time. The paper presents the key technologies used in the development of the platform and describes the functional requirements and design ideas of the system in detail. The system collects real-time comprehensive data to enhance the quality of the user experience to provide a valuable reference. The system is tested in a real-time environment and the test results are given in terms of the system performance. The crowdsourcing platform has new features of real-time ...

Obtaining an effective mathematical model for the cutting force is challenging. In that respect, the second-order model of cutting force has been established by response surface methodology (RSM) in this study, with different cutting parameters, such as cutting speed, feed rate, and depth of cut. The optimized mathematical model has been developed to analyze the effect of actual processing conditions on the generation of cutting force for the turning process of SiCp/Al composite. The results show that the predicted parameters by the RSM are in close agreement with experimental results with minimal error percentage. Quantitative evaluation by using analysis of variance (ANOVA), main effects plot, interactive effect, residual analysis, and optimization of cutting forces using the desirability function was performed. It has been found that the higher depth of cut...

QoS is mostly used for measuring various kinds of multimedia data. Sharing (uploading) on SC has become the daily activity of end-users. As a result of this activity, it provides an open challenge for service providers. As a service provider, the host delivers productive infrastructure, allowing end-users to upload and share their high-quality images. To evaluate the QoS of image compression, we conduct objective QoS techniques to measure the efficiency of image quality and QoS performance of service delivery via uploading /downloading of images on three popular SC, (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram). These social clouds and image services are compared by the mean, standard deviation (STDEV),mean square error (MSE), and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). So we can achieve better results about the SC image quality. The results show that Instagram and Facebook compressed images more as compared to Twitter. However, Twitter less supports image formats and provides an acceptable quality of compressed images as compared to others. Therefore, Facebook supports all image file formats and enhanced (QoE) levels of end-users, but Twitter provided the best QoS of compressed images as compared to Instagram. Further, we found that the decrease of MSE and increase of SNR both have a high impact on image resolutions as compared to original image parameters, which has a higher effect on quality. For the specific quality assurance of image tasks acquired for robust automated image analysis research, we are also using deep learning techniques (DLT) to classify the quality of images. We also have identified the opportunity to simplify the Convolutional Neural network (CNN) with smaller resampling grids and making this process more suitable for at least five thousand (5000) of the enormous datasets available in the future.
