PITTSBURGH, PA (November 16, 2022) – Commonplace Coffee today announced the opening of its newest location at Rockwell Park, 7514 Thomas Boulevard in Pittsburgh’s North Point Breeze/Homewood Neighborhoods. It is situated across the street from the East End Food Co-op and down the block from Construction Junction. Rockwell Park is a 24-acre former industrial area that is slowly being transformed into 800,000 square feet of modern offices, advanced manufacturing, restaurants, and retail across an eight-building campus. The industrial buildings are being repurposed as Class A, tech-flex, and affordable office space.
“We worked closely with Indovina Associates on the planning and design for this cafe space from a vanilla shell into a fully functioning coffee shop,” said Robert Chaffin, Director of Operations of Commonplace Coffee. “The cafe looks amazing, and we’re honored to be part of a new vision for this former industrial space. We’re also excited about the opportunity to continue to serve our Point Breeze neighbors and build new ties with the community of Homewood.”
In coordination with the opening of their Rockwell Park cafe, Commonplace Coffee will be ceasing operation of their existing cafe in Point Breeze (6736 Reynolds Street) and relocating their equipment and staff to Rockwell Park. Dates for the final day of operation at their Point Breeze cafe and the grand opening of their Rockwell Park cafe are yet to be officially announced but are tentatively scheduled for December 2022.
The first 50 guests at their Rockwell Park grand opening celebration will receive an exclusive diner mug, which can be presented for one free drip coffee or half off an espresso-based drink through March 2023 (limit one drink per day). More information will be available soon through Commonplace Coffee social media channels.
Commonplace Coffee Rockwell Park will be open to the public and accessible from both Meade Street and Thomas Boulevard (down a short walkway). Initial operating hours will be 7am-4pm Monday through Friday and 8am-4pm Saturday and Sunday.
