While abundant research exists on how such practices impact student learning in EFL classes around the world, this research still remains scarce in Kosovo. Therefore, the current research addresses this existing gap by exploring the link between teacher classroom practices and student learning. Participants of this study included 10th and 11th grade students across six municipalities in Kosovo (N=237). The respondents were asked to complete a questionnaire inquiring about practices adopted by teachers to teach EFL. The results reveal disparate teaching practices adopted by teachers to teach the material. To that end, female students report enhances participatory and collaborative approaches used by teachers and in the meantime an overall higher perception of the chances given by teachers to express opinions and ideas in class, compared to male students. This study aims to reflect teachers' perspectives on the use of innovative and interactive te... more This study aims to reflect teachers' perspectives on the use of innovative and interactive teaching methods (mobile learning and others) and to present the importance of the application of modern teaching methods by first-level teachers (grades 1-5) and second-level teachers (grades 6-9), in the development of student competencies. The research includes the Anamorava Region in Kosovo which covers an area of 650 km2 and has about 200,000 inhabitants. Quantitative methods were used to research this issue, while Likert scale questionnaires were used as a tool for measuring teachers' thoughts and attitudes. The research sample consists of 97 teachers working with first and second-level students. The results show that teachers do not use a variety of methods while a number of them state that teaching methods are always in coherence with the age and skills of students. As part of students’ performance are also the skills such as: reading, writing, listening and speaking. Some methods pay attention more on reading and writing, while some others such as CLT pays more attention on communication (speaking). In this research paper were tested the secondary school students, respectively tenth grade Kosovo students, in order to get information of the correlation between the variables (skills) for students taught with ESA and students taught with CLT. At the same time, it was also seen, which the skills are where the students have shown better results with above mentions methods of ELT.

Numerous indicators of crucial role exist for improvements of the students' performance d... more Numerous indicators of crucial role exist for improvements of the students' performance during the learning process in classrooms, to include the level of teaching and learning, teachers’ performance, students’ motivation and teaching methods. However, the class size has its impact over the successful performance of students, which is the main topic of this scientific research. Regarding the impact of class size, or more precisely, the number of students in the classroom, in student performance, has developed an empirical research which results are reflected in this paper. The survey was conducted in several schools of higher education in some Kosovo municipalities. by the outcomes introduced it is intended to prove a dilemma that has existed for a long time for classes with smaller number of students which tend to be more successful compared to the classes with higher number of students. Furthermore, the review of the literature, is an important part of the paper, where intertwine various theories regarding this issue, bringing different experiences of OECD countries regarding the impact of class size on student performance. Finally, the performance of the students was tested in different class sizes at the end of the school year to see if there is a difference in their outcome.
