His scientific learning emerges in several points, and with different motivations, in his literary work.

Lenard’s reasoning was based on the fact that the value obtained by Einstein in 1911 is effectively the same as Soldner’s. The present discussion explains how the equivalence of the two results is merely the result of an interpretation of the values.

Essays on the history of Mathematics rarely attempt to identify the cultural context that favoured the developement of new methods and syntheses, and how these were accepted and interpreted by what Kuhn calls "normal science". In a brief essay in 1771, Gregorio Fontana provided a glimpse of the enormous enthusiasm of an 18th century mathematician facing the potential of exponential functions.
