IF YOU CAN READ THIS, you’re EDUCATED…

I

I was sitting by my window sipping on my morning ‘chai’ and buzz goes my cell phone, I unlock it and my phone says thru an unknown no. ‘Give your career a boost! Get an MBA/MCA 1yr correspondence @ Rs15900/- onwards, job guaranteed.’ I couldn’t believe my eyes, educational institutions have become a joke. It’s like this huge market place where everyone’s out to offer a shiny degree bribed with a fancy (in the bag) JOB.

I believe EDUCATION is becoming the biggest scam that is gift wrapped and presented to next generation with an excuse to be ahead in the rat race. A decade ago being a graduate was competent enough to have a desirable bride/groom profile eligible for marriage. Today people don’t talk anything below MBA, it’s like the basic degree that would make you eligible to face the world. I don’t want to sound invective but today people are making MBA’s so as to bring in assorted dowry.

Value of learning and priceless teaching is at the zilch. EDUCATION has become the prime most factor on which people are being judged. Everybody wants to outdo each other. Scoring 98-99% was not enough that S.S.C board have come up with sports quota to be added in the final marks sheet making the kids score an astonishing 100% mark. I have witnessed starvation in the eyes of folks and kids for ambitious %. It is miserable but true that it has become a permanent mindset that to be successful (rich) one has to be a MBA/ME/DR from a shimmering university.

If you look at it from the pedestal angle, it’s not the kids but their respective folks who are talking. They have this thing to make their kids do what they couldn’t be in life! Why is it that most of parents even today force their kids to opt for science even though they are interested in arts. I have myself witnessed kids scoring mere 50%’s and sentenced to this scientific jail wherein physics and chemistry are like whopping punishments for them. What happens? They land up with enormous number of KT’s and get demotivated.

They say half knowledge is worst than NO knowledge! It makes so much of sense, did you know that total number career opportunities in arts stream is 350, with commerce it is 110 and with that of science its mere 86 ( including Dr’s and engineer’s)

They want to bind the mind to truth!

The tragedy of the whole thing is no one wants to admit the fact that being different is normal. Today a child who is not interested in studies, numbers, figures and instead prefers to day dream, is curious and asks zillion questions is termed as naughty, disruptive, slow or backward. History is the spectator but all the famous and successful people that I know of have been awfully miserable in their acad’s. Want me to name a few… Albert Einstein failed his first college entrance exam at Zurich Polytechnic, Winston Churchill failed sixth grade, Bill Gates was a Harvard University dropout. The most ironic part is that, he started a software company (that was soon to become Microsoft) by purchasing the software technology from "someone" for only $US50 back then. Thomas Edison who developed many devices which greatly influenced life in the 20th century. When he was a boy his teacher told him he was too stupid to learn anything. When he set out on his own, he tried more than 9,000 experiments before he created the first successful light bulb. Before joining NBA, Michael Jordan was just an ordinary person, so ordinary that was cut from high school basketball team because of his "lack of skill". Sachin tendulkar, Mahendra singh dhoni, Sharukh Khan, Mahatma Gandhi…..

You know who needs to be educated, The FOLKS, I am not saying these masters degrees are useless and waste of time in fact they make you competent but I strongly believe that the feeling of enjoying your work is priceless. You don’t want to witness the sight of your son/daughter slogging out on the job and regretting their whole life. Nothing, No teacher in this world could make you learn the feeling of tasting success after failure, about how it is to make it on your own without any one’s help, It’s not about being successful, rich, famous, but about being happy of what you’re doing with your life and trust me if you’re happy then rich, successful, famous comes handy

The essence and value of developing a wholesome personality is the most essential ingredient. One should not play with others life by throwing their unfulfilled desires. Give them a chance to fail, let them be curious being inquisitive is the first sign of being prosperous, let them get up on their own, don’t be with them but be behind them, make them realise the value of being human, let them fall, let them get hurt, make them have their basics right, to know when to make their exit, it’s ok to not make the grade.Sometimes you ahead sometimes you’re not!

THE RACE IS LONG………. And it’s against no one else but U!

MY Determination

Promise to Yourself - 10 Commandments

1. To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.

2. To talk health, happiness and prosperity to every person you meet.

3. To make all your friends feel that there is something in them.

4. To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true.

5. To think only of the best, to work only for the best, and to expect only the best. (Well, it is more realistic also to prepare for the worst!)

6. To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own.

7. To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.

8. To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature you meet a smile.

9. To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others.
10.To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.

Shake It Off! - TAKE A STEP FORWARD

One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a well.
The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do.

Finally he decided the animal was old and the well needed to be covered up anyway, it just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey.

He invited all his neighbors to come over and help him. They all grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well. At first, the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly.

Then, to everyone's amazement, he quieted down.

A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the well and was astonished at what he saw.

With every shovel of dirt that hit his back, the donkey was doing something amazing. He would shake it off and take a step up.

As the farmer's neighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it off and take a step up.

Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well and trotted off!

Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt. The trick to getting out of the well is to shake it off and take a step up. Each of our troubles is a stepping stone. We can get out of the deepest wells just by not stopping, never giving up! Shake it off and take a step up!
