Management of archaeological databases and laboratory analyses. Public education in archaeology. I have 40 years of experience in archaeological research and cultural resource management. I have experience in prehistoric and historic sites investigations from small and large scale cultural resource surveys, to National Register Eligibility Testing of prehistoric and historic sites, and large scale mitigation programs involving multiple site excavation and interpretation. Responsibilities have included design and implementation of all phases of cultural resource investigations from preliminary negotiations, to developing research designs/work plans and cost estimates and conducting field surveys, site excavations and preparing historic properties management plans. I have in depth experience in prehistoric artifact analysis and in terpretation, data base management, and technical report writing. The results of my investigations, which often are expansive and multi-disciplinary in nature, have been published in refereed journals, technical journal articles, monographs, technical reports, and newsletters. My field research/analysis/report writing experience includes survey, testing, and mitigation of sites in the Southeastern U.S. (Alabama, Arkansas, Tennessee, South Carolina, Florida, Kentucky, Mississippi, Louisiana) and the Southern Plains (primarily Texas). I have also conducted numerous Phase I surveys and accomplished Phase II site testing in the Midwest/Plains (Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska) and reported the results. In addition to this experience, I have compiled cultural resource management plans for army ammunition depots in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Kentucky and for the Osage Hydroelectric project at Lake of Ozarks, Missouri. I have also analyzed and reported lithic remains from sites in Oklahoma, California, Arizona, and New Mexico. These included 1) a Phase I reconnaissance and intensive survey of the Blue Grass Army Depot in central Kentucky, 2) Phase I intensive survey of select Army aviation helicopter landing lease tracts in the vicinity of Fort Rucker, southeast Alabama, 3) testing of four shell midden sites in the Trinity Delta, southeast Texas for the Galveston District Corps of Engineers, 4) mitigation of a large shell midden for the Galveston District, 5) Phase I survey of a portion of Cypress Creek north of Houston, Texas, 6) Phase I cemetery relocation project for the Galveston District, and 7) oral history project for the Galveston District.
