Quick engineering salary comparison based on the #DEVBG stats from 2023 and 2024 in the Bulgarian IT industry. Dev.bg publish yearly a summary of the Bulgarian IT engineering salaries based on the job openings offers on their platform. https://lnkd.in/dNU5MD8D (2023 stats) https://lnkd.in/dX_dxvP7 (2024 stats) Based on the population data (let's assume it's a proper representation of the real world) we can determine the following: 1. PHP should be dead but it isn't (unfortunately) as it's one of the two categories with growing salaries in all job positions and ranges. 2. The second is the full stack development with a minimum drop of 65 levas in the first MID range(2-5 years) 3. All ranges except the Senior level(5+ years of experience) have a drop in salary compared to 2023 but for some seem negligible compared to the notion in the industry that "it's going down and AI will take over the world" :) 4. We can see that seniority still counts and there is now a shift towards growth of salaries of more senior people compared to others as the market tries to regulate. 5. There is still a lot of green for a "dying" and "shrinking" industry. Description: Over 100 website views in one day, ZERO views on the Romanian page, and few views on the Hungarian page. Positive Effects of the Mistake: - Discovered a curiosity about the content on the website. - Identified that the language selection button is not in the right place. - Realized that Wix Studio doesn't always display the interface correctly. - Learned which localities to target on social media for higher conversion (saving time and money on further testing). ⚫And it all started from a seemingly trivial mistake pointed out in a comment. The Romanian option does not appear on mobile but does on desktop. There’s a reason why only two of the top hundred software companies are in the European Union. Ambition is much more natural in the States than in the EU. Where I grew up in Hungary, ambition is not something you're proud of. You're being taught that you should stay a simple man. You should work 9 to 5. And that's generally accepted. This is the ideal life. Stay the simple man. Success & money is associated with shady dealings. After visiting the US, it’s hard to remain in the mindset of staying small when you see so many people rushing to fulfill their potential and achieve success. As social creatures, we tend to converge towards the behaviors of people who we spend the most time with. You know … “you are the average of the five people you hang out with the most” … So if you surround yourself with people who are ambitious and always thinking about solving a big problem, you will find yourself solving big problems as well. It’s inevitable.

Why is it so difficult in my country, in Romania, to have an IT job in web development or blockchain development at companies? I guess working overseas is far more easy and get your jobs easily (even when you are remote) than in your own country 🤣🤣. I guess if I go to companies on-site, years will pass, and maybe at 40 years old I will get my first junior position in IT 🤣🤣🤣🤣. I cannot wait until I am 40 years old, that's why I chose my freelancing path. This summer I managed to finish my first web app to a client as a freelancer (I cannot share details about it, is confidential), and both of us were happy about the results. Very complicated, but I finished it in the end. It was a wild ride of codes and errors, but I did it without a college in IT. Let's just say this was my internship in this field. 😎🧠 Freelancer for life I will remain!!! Someone smart said freelancing is the way. I cannot mention his name, because he is a controversial character. And he was right, freelancing (remote work) is the present and the future! If I get a freelancing job, and an end date until I present the final result, I will work until I get that, it doesn't matter how much hours I put work in an app, the point is to deliver the work to the client on time on that date. The rest what you do everyday, is not the client's interest. The client wants the job done in time. That's it! I love freelancing ❤️! I'm open for offers in web development and web apps!
