In fact, at times such is the burden on mental health professionals to meet this growing need that staff burnout and decreased attention to students with lesser serious needs happen and sometimes some cases have to be closed prematurely. Nevertheless the importance of counseling and its effectiveness in enhancing the mental health of the students cannot be understated. In fact, there is a felt need for more resources which are are required to increase staffing, improve tra ining, and increase physical space on campus for counseling centers. The present paper discusses case study of an adolescent who was given Assertiveness training for satisfactorily dealing with a traumatic situation at home front which was hampering the child’s emotional, social and academic growth considerably. The changes brought about in his mental health status are discussed.

And all this in the name of that elusive dame named success. Excellence may not be the motive of today’s generation but success is and at any cost. Literature reviews indicate that spiritual strength in personality is related to one’s self esteem, locus of control and perceived success. Men and women differ in many of the psychological constructs in various ways. In this study an attempt was made to find out gender differences in the spiritual personality. Results seem to be interesting and it is concluded that there exist gender differences in personality which account for the differences in their socialization process too.

In the present study, an effort was made to study and understand how heterosexual and queer youth in contemporary middle class in Delhi explore the relationship sexual abuse survivors have with their own sexuality and how their negotiate their sexual selves. The secondary aim of the study was to investigate the function and effects of guilt, shame, desire, fantasies and gender roles in their lives and how, if at all, they connect to the experiences of sexual assault suffered by individuals within this socio-cultural group. The approach that frames this study is a discourse analytic approach and this is seen as central to the methodology of this study and the language used to talk about the findings and implications of this research.

The purpose of the present study was to search and evaluate the parents-child relationship from the adolescent’s perspective (age ranged from 7-18 yrs) who had engaged in criminal activities. This is an attempt to find out the correlation between different parenting practices and juvenile delinquency. For this purpose, sample was selected through quota sampling method and the present study also utilized a 3x2x2 factorial research design to measure the degree of correlation among the variables. Data was obtained by using ‘The Parental Involvement Scale (PIS-CA)’ developed by Dr. Vijaya Laxmi and Dr. Gunjan Arora. The results were found to be interesting and are expanded in the paper.
