UAVs and FANET were initially associated with military surveillance and intelligence gathering; moreover, they are now excessively used in civilian roles including search and rescue, traffic monitoring, firefighting, videography, and smart agriculture. However, due to the distinctive architecture, they pose considerable design and deployment challenges, prominently related to routing protocols, as the traditional routing protocols cannot be used directly in FANET. For instance, due to high mobility and sparse topology, frequent link breakage and route maintenance incur high overhead and latency. In this paper, we employ the bio-inspired Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) algorithm called “Ant-Hocnet” based on optimized fuzzy logic to improve routing in FANET. Fuzzy logic is used to analyze the information about ...

In this paper, a generic form of the lognormal distribution is presented that can be applied to model many engineering problems involving indeterminacies in reliability studies. The suggested distribution is especially effective for modeling data that are roughly symmetric or skewed to the right. In this paper, the key mathematical properties of the proposed neutrosophic lognormal distribution (NLD) have been derived. Throughout the study, detailed examples from life-test data are used to confirm the mathematical development of the proposed neutrosophic model. The core ideas of the reliability terms, including the neutrosophic mean time failure, neutrosophic hazard rate, neutrosophic cumulative failure rate, and neutrosophic reliability function, are addressed with examples. In addition, the estimation of two typical parameters of the ...

Cluster-based routing is an efficient solution to cope with the dynamic and inconsistent structure of VANETs. In this paper, we propose a cluster-based routing scheme (hereinafter referred to as connectivity-based clustering), where link connectivity is used as a metric for cluster formation and cluster head (CH) selection. Link connectivity is a function of vehicle density and transmission range in the proposed connectivity-based clustering scheme. Moreover, we used a heuristic approach of spectral clustering for the optimal number of cluster formation. Lastly, an appropriate vehicle is selected as a CH based on the maximum Eigen-centrality score. The simulation results show that the suggested connectivity-based clustering scheme performs well in the optimal number of cluster selections, strongly connected (STC) route selection, and route request...

In the literature, cluster leader (CL) is selected based on remaining energy of mobile sensor nodes to enhance sensor network lifetime. In this study, a novel connectivity-based Low-Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy-Mobile Energy Efficient and Connected (LEACH-MEEC) routing protocol was proposed, where CL is selected based on connectivity among neighboring nodes and the remaining energy of mobile sensor nodes. Consequently, it improves data delivery, network lifetime and balances the energy consumption. We studied various performance metrics including the number of alive nodes (NAN), remaining energy (RE) and packet delivery ratio (PDR). Our proposed LEACH-MEEC outperforms all other algorithms due to the connectivity metric. Moreover, the performance of mobility models was investigated through graphical and statistically tabulated results. The results show t...

Asafoetida is not only used as a culinary spice but also traditionally used to treat various diseases, including asthma, gastrointestinal disorders, intestinal parasites, etc. This oleo-gum-resin has been known to possess antifungal, anti-diabetic, anti-inflammatory, anti-mutagenic and antiviral activities. A wide range of chemical compounds including sugars, sesquiterpene coumarins and polysulfides have been isolated from this plant. Recent studies have shown new promising antiviral sesquiterpene coumarins from this old phytomedicine. The present review summarizes the information concerning the traditional uses, phytochemistry and biological activities of asafoetida.

This makes the exact analysis of the jet cutting process to be very complicated. The problem of water jet coal cutting is a multiresponse problem. There are two output variables, depth of cut and cutting width whose optimization will result in the increase in the productivity of coal cutting. In this paper, a Taguchi–Fuzzy decision method has been used to determine the effective process parameters for improving the productivity of coal mines. The Taguchi method of experimental design is a widely accepted technique used for producing high quality products at low cost. The optimization of multiple responses in complex processes is common; therefore, to reduce the degree of uncertainty during the decision making, fuzzy rule-based reasoning was integrated with the Taguchi loss function.
