About Me
Background, Projects, and More

My Background
I was born and raised in Monterey County, California, USA. I started teaching myself MS-DOS, Visual Basic, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript at age 12 on my family's Microsoft Windows XP desktop.
- Age 13 I volunteered at Pacific Grove City Hall archiving meeting minutes, publishing PDF documents to the public, and organizing the website files.
- Age 14 I took summer camps at Stanford University for game development, Web development, and Java programming.
- Age 15 I joined FRC in Pacific Grove High School and started as lead-programmer of the robot. I wrote the teleoperation drive system and autonomous drive system.
- Age 16 I started a public hosting platform for over 30+ communities and clients for free. Through this experience I learned a lot about networking, penetration testing, and #OpSec.
- Age 18+ I began reverse engineering, one of my projects included reverse engineering Club Penguin's Shockwave Flash files and publicly documenting the SFS protocol. Another project involved working with a group of game modders to reverse engineer the proprietary SCEA multiplayer game protocol, Medius.

My Hosting Platform
In October 2012, I started with hosting game servers (such as Minecraft, Team Fortress 2, among other Steam servers), VoIP servers (Ventrillo, Mumble, etc), IRC servers, and eventually websites for the general public.
As popularity grew and my knowledge on networking and virtualization (pre-dating containerization) improved, I made the decision to open my hosting platform to small communities and archival projects that couldn't afford to pay for hosting. Essentially I provided an alternative to AWS or Azure starting with only two co-locations available.
It was around December 2016 when I had to restrict how many clients I served as the traffic became more than my ISP could handle!

Outside of computers, what do I enjoy?
- Camping, Hiking, Backpacking
- Archery, Air-Rifles
- Horseback Riding
- Traveling, Driving
- Martial Arts
- Anime, Japanese Culture
I started doing martial arts at age 10 in the Monterey Sports Center under the Gosin-Jitsu Ohana system. I practiced up until my last degree of brown and then regrettably discontinued as I was focused with college and work.
