In his role as Head of Content, Japan, Yosuke Ishibashi (or simply, ‘Bashi’) is dedicated to making Prime Video the most beloved video-subscription service in Japan. As part of Prime Video Japan’s senior leadership team, Bashi plays a key role in driving the overall strategy. His primary responsibilities include expanding the subscription video-on-demand (SVoD) business by leading content licensing and acquisition efforts, ensuring that Prime Video offers a diverse and compelling selection of content that delights its customers. His role also includes collaborating with the worldwide Sports team to shape the LIVE Sports strategy and drive key sports initiatives within the country. Bashi’s role involves crafting and implementing the long-term business and managing the overall content strategy, accelerating Prime Video’s adoption among customers in Japan to meet the country’s diverse entertainment needs, and enhancing Prime Video’s role in enriching the overall Prime membership experience.
Having joined Prime Video in August 2016 as Sr. Content Strategy Manager, Bashi has since played an instrumental role in driving the streaming service’s growth in Japan, establishing the locale as one of Prime Video’s largest international territories worldwide. Prior to joining Amazon, Bashi spent 10 years at Sony Pictures Entertainment, where he last served as the concurrent leader of Business Planning and Digital Sales Team in the Home Entertainment Division.
