This paper presents a bibliometric analysis of the scientific literature related to chatbots, focusing specifically on ChatGPT. Chatbots have gained increasing attention recently, with an annual growth rate of 19.16% and 27.19% on the Web of Sciences (WoS) and Scopus, respectively. In this study, we have explored the structure, conceptual evolution, and trends in this field by analyzing data from both Scopus and WoS databases. The research consists of two study phases: (i) an analysis of chatbot literature and (ii) a comprehensive review of scientific documents on ChatGPT. In the first phase, a bibliometric analysis is conducted on all published literature, including articles, book chapters, conference papers, and reviews on chatbots from both Scopus (5839) and WoS (2531) databases covering the period from 1998 to 2023. An in-depth analysis focusing on sources, countries, authors' impact, and keywords has revealed that ChatGPT is the latest trend in the chatbot field. Consequently, in the second phase, bibliometric analysis has been carried out on ChatGPT publications, and 45 published studies have been analyzed thoroughly based on their methods, novelty, and conclusions. The key areas of interest identified from the study can be classified into three groups: artificial intelligence and related technologies, design and evaluation of conversational agents, and digital technologies and mental health. Overall, the study aims to provide guidelines for researchers to conduct their research more effectively in the field of chatbots and specifically highlight significant areas for future investigation into ChatGPT.

In 2020, COVID-19 became the chief concern of the world and is still reflected widely in all social networks. Each day, users post millions of tweets and comments on this subject, which contain significant implicit information about the public opinion. In this regard, a dataset of COVID-related tweets in English language is collected, which consists of more than two million tweets from March 23 to June 23 of 2020 to extract the feelings of the people in various countries in the early stages of this outbreak. To this end, first, we use a lexicon-based approach in conjunction with the GeoNames geographic database to label the tweets with their locations. Next, a method based on the recently introduced and widely cited RoBERTa model is proposed to analyze their sentimental content. After that, the trend graphs of the frequency of tweets as well as sentiments are produced for the world and the nations that were more engaged with COVID-19. Graph analysis shows that the frequency graphs of the tweets for the majority of nations are significantly correlated with the official statistics of the daily afflicted in them. Moreover, several implicit knowledge is extracted and discussed.

A fundamental challenge in graph mining is the ever-increasing size of datasets. Graph summarization aims to find a compact representation resulting in faster algorithms and reduced storage needs. The flip side of graph summarization is the loss of utility which diminishes its usability. The key questions we address in this paper are: (1)How to summarize a graph without any loss of utility? (2)How to summarize a graph with some loss of utility but above a user-specified threshold? (3)How to query graph summaries without graph reconstruction?} We also aim at making graph summarization available for the masses by efficiently handling web-scale graphs using only a consumer-grade machine. Previous works suffer from conceptual limitations and lack of scalability. In this work, we make three key contributions. First, we present a utility-driven graph summarization method, based on a clique and independent set decomposition, that produces significant compression with zero loss of utility. The compression provided is significantly better than state-of-the-art in lossless graph summarization, while the runtime is two orders of magnitude lower. Second, we present a highly scalable algorithm for the lossy case, which foregoes the expensive iterative process that hampers previous work. Our algorithm achieves this by combining a memory reduction technique and a novel binary-search approach. In contrast to the competition, we are able to handle web-scale graphs in a single machine without a performance impediment as the utility threshold (and size of summary) decreases. Third, we show that our graph summaries can be used as-is to answer several important classes of queries, such as triangle enumeration, Pagerank, and shortest paths. This is in contrast to other works that incrementally reconstruct the original graph for answering queries, thus incurring additional time costs.

Community detection is considered as a fundamental task in analyzing social networks. Even though many techniques have been proposed for community detection, most of them are based exclusively on the connectivity structures. However, there are node features in real networks, such as gender types in social networks, feeding behavior in ecological networks, and location on e-trading networks, that can be further leveraged with the network structure to attain more accurate community detection methods. We propose a novel probabilistic graphical model to detect communities by taking into account both network structure and nodes' features. The proposed approach learns the relevant features of communities through a generative probabilistic model without any prior assumption on the communities. Furthermore, the model is capable of determining the strength of node features and structural elements of the networks on shaping the communities. The effectiveness of the proposed approach over the state-of-the-art algorithms is revealed on synthetic and benchmark networks.

Community detection is a task of fundamental importance in social network analysis that can be used in a variety of knowledge-based domains. While there exist many works on community detection based on connectivity structures, they suffer from either considering the overlapping or non-overlapping communities. In this work, we propose a novel approach for general community detection through an integrated framework to extract the overlapping and non-overlapping community structures without assuming prior structural connectivity on networks. Our general framework is based on a primary node based criterion which consists of the internal association degree along with the external association degree. The evaluation of the proposed method is investigated through the extensive simulation experiments and several benchmark real network datasets. The experimental results show that the proposed method outperforms the earlier state-of-the-art algorithms based on the well-known evaluation criteria.

A distributed adaptive algorithm for estimation of sparse unknown parameters in the presence of nonGaussian noise is proposed in this paper based on normalized least mean fourth (NLMF) criterion. At the first step, local adaptive NLMF algorithm is modified by zero norm in order to speed up the convergence rate and also to reduce the steady state error power in sparse conditions. Then, the proposed algorithm is extended for distributed scenario in which more improvement in estimation performance is achieved due to cooperation of local adaptive filters. Simulation results show the superiority of the proposed algorithm in comparison with conventional NLMF algorithms.
