Dark Matter Search Results from 1.54 Tonne$\cdot$Year Exposure of PandaX-4T

Abstract: In this letter, we report the dark matter search results from the commissioning run and the first science run of the PandaX-4T experiment. A blind analysis is carried out on the entire data set. The data processing is improved compared to previous work, unifying the low-level signal reconstruction in a wide energy range up to 120 keV. The lowest 90% confidence level exclusion on the spin-independent cross section is $1.6 \times 10^{-47} \mathrm{cm}^2$ at a dark matter mass of 40 GeV$/c^2$. Partial wave analysis of $ψ(3686)\toΛ\barΣ^0π^0+c.c.$

Abstract: Based on a sample of $(2712.4\pm14.3)\times10^6\;ψ(3686)$ events collected with the BESIII detector, a partial wave analysis of the decay $ψ(3686)\toΛ\barΣ^0π^0+c.c.$ is performed to investigate $Λ^*$ and $Σ^*$ resonances in the $π^0\barΣ^0$ and $π^0Λ$ invariant mass distributions. Significant contributions are found from the $Λ(1405)$, $Λ(1520)$, $Λ(1600)$, $Λ(1670)$, $Λ(1690)$, $Λ(1800)$,… ▽ More Based on a sample of $(2712.4\pm14.3)\times10^6\;ψ(3686)$ events collected with the BESIII detector, a partial wave analysis of the decay $ψ(3686)\toΛ\barΣ^0π^0+c.c.$ is performed to investigate $Λ^*$ and $Σ^*$ resonances in the $π^0\barΣ^0$ and $π^0Λ$ invariant mass distributions. Significant contributions are found from the $Λ(1405)$, $Λ(1520)$, $Λ(1600)$, $Λ(1670)$, $Λ(1690)$, $Λ(1800)$, $Λ(1890)$, $Λ(2325)$, $Σ(1385)$, $Σ(1660)$, $Σ(1670)$, $Σ(1750)$, and $Σ(1910)$. The masses, widths, and production branching fractions for each component are determined. Design of High-speed readout electronics for the DarkSHINE electromagnetic calorimeter

Abstract: The DarkSHINE experiment aims to search for dark photons by measuring the energy loss of the electrons recoiled from fixed-target. Its electromagnetic calorimeter is primarily responsible for accurately reconstructing the energy of the recoil electrons and bremsstrahlung photons. The performance of the electromagnetic calorimeter is crucial, as its energy measurement precision directly determines… ▽ More The DarkSHINE experiment aims to search for dark photons by measuring the energy loss of the electrons recoiled from fixed-target. Its electromagnetic calorimeter is primarily responsible for accurately reconstructing the energy of the recoil electrons and bremsstrahlung photons. The performance of the electromagnetic calorimeter is crucial, as its energy measurement precision directly determines the sensitivity to the search for dark photons. The DarkSHINE electromagnetic calorimeter uses LYSO crystals to form a fully absorptive electromagnetic calorimeter. It utilizes SiPMs to detect scintillation light in the crystals, and its readout electronics system deduces the deposited energy in the crystals by measuring the number of photoelectric signals generated by the SiPMs. The DarkSHINE electromagnetic calorimeter aims to operate at an event rate of 1-10 MHz, detecting energies ranging from 1 MeV to 1 GeV. To meet the requirements of high energy measurement precision, high event rate, and large dynamic range, we have researched and designed a readout electronics system based on dual-channel high-speed ADCs and a customized DAQ. The front-end amplification part of this system uses low-noise trans-impedance amplifiers to achieve high-precision waveform amplification. It successfully achieves a dynamic range up to a thousandfold through a double-gain readout scheme. The digital part uses 1 GSPS high-speed ADCs to achieve non-dead-time, high-precision waveform digitization. The DAQ part uses JESD204B high-speed serial protocol to read out the signal from ADC, and transmit it to PC software for processing and storage. Test results show a signal-to-noise ratio greater than 66 dBFS and an ENOB greater than 10.6 bits. Energy spectra measurements have been conducted using LYSO crystals and SiPMs, and an energy resolution of 5.96% at the 2.6 MeV gamma peak of Th-232 has been achieved. △ Less

Observation of $D^0\to b_1(1235)^- e^+ν_e$ and evidence for $D^+\to b_1(1235)^0 e^+ν_e$

Abstract: By analyzing a data sample of $e^+e^-$ collisions with center-of-mass energy $\sqrt{s}=3.773$ GeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $7.9~\rm {fb}^{-1}$ collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII collider, we study semileptonic decays of the $D^{0(+)}$ mesons into the axial-vector meson $b_1(1235)$ via the decay $b_1(1235)\to ωπ$. The decay… ▽ More By analyzing a data sample of $e^+e^-$ collisions with center-of-mass energy $\sqrt{s}=3.773$ GeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $7.9~\rm {fb}^{-1}$ collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII collider, we study semileptonic decays of the $D^{0(+)}$ mesons into the axial-vector meson $b_1(1235)$ via the decay $b_1(1235)\to ωπ$. The decay $D^0\to b_1(1235)^-e^{+}ν_{e}$ is observed with a significance of 5.2$σ$ after considering systematic uncertainty, while evidence for the decay $D^+\to b_1(1235)^0 e^+ν_e$ is obtained with a 3.1$σ$ significance. The product branching fractions are determined to be ${\mathcal B}(D^0\to b_{1}(1235)^-e^{+}ν_{e})\times {\mathcal B} (b_1(1235)^-\to ωπ^-) = (0.72\pm0.18^{+0.06}_{-0.08})\times10^{-4}$ and ${\mathcal B}(D^+\to b_{1}(1235)^0e^{+}ν_{e})\times {\mathcal B} (b_1(1235)^0~\to ωπ^0) = (1.16\pm0.44\pm0.16)\times10^{-4}$, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic. The ratio of their partial decay widths is determined to be $\frac{Γ(D^0\to b_{1}(1235)^-e^{+}ν_{e})}{2Γ(D^+\to b_{1}(1235)^0e^{+}ν_{e})}=0.78\pm0.19^{+0.04}_{-0.05}$, which is consistent with unity, predicted by isospin invariance, within uncertainties. △ Less

Abstract: A measurement of the time-dependent ratio of the $D^0\rightarrow K^+π^-$ to $\overline{D}^0\rightarrow K^+π^-$ decay rates is reported. The analysis uses a sample of proton-proton collisions corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 6 fb$^-1$ recorded by the LHCb experiment from 2015 through 2018 at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. The $D^0$ meson is required to originate from a… ▽ More A measurement of the time-dependent ratio of the $D^0\rightarrow K^+π^-$ to $\overline{D}^0\rightarrow K^+π^-$ decay rates is reported. The analysis uses a sample of proton-proton collisions corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 6 fb$^-1$ recorded by the LHCb experiment from 2015 through 2018 at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. The $D^0$ meson is required to originate from a $D^{*+}\rightarrow D^0π^+$ decay, such that its flavor at production is inferred from the charge of the accompanying pion. The measurement is performed simultaneously for the $K^+π^-$ and $K^-π^+$ final states, allowing both mixing and $CP$-violation parameters to be determined. The value of the ratio of the decay rates at production is determined to be $R_{Kπ} = (343.1 \pm 2.0) \times 10^{-5}$. The mixing parameters are measured to be $c_{Kπ} = (51.4 \pm 3.5) \times 10^{-4}$ and $c_{Kπ}^{\prime} = (13 \pm 4) \times 10^{-6}$, where $\sqrt{R_{Kπ}}c_{Kπ}$ is the linear coefficient of the expansion of the ratio as a function of decay time in units of the $D^0$ lifetime, and $c_{Kπ}^{\prime}$ is the quadratic coefficient, both averaged between the $K^+π^-$ and $K^-π^+$ final states. The precision is improved relative to the previous best measurement by approximately 60%. No evidence for $CP$ violation is found. △ Less

The ECAL design has been meticulously evaluated through comprehensive simulations, focusing on optimizing dimensions, material choices, and placement within the detector array to enhance sensitivity in search for dark photon signatures while balancing cost and performance. The concluded ECAL design, comprising 2.5$\times$2.5$\times$4 cm$^3$ LYSO crystals arranged in a 52.5$\times$52.5$\times$44 cm$^3$ structure, ensures high energy resolution and effective energy containment. The study also explored the energy distribution across different ECAL regions and established a dynamic range for energy measurements, with a 4 GeV limit per crystal deemed sufficient. Dynamic Range of SiPMs with High Pixel Densities

Abstract: This study investigates the characteristics of Silicon Photomultipliers (SiPMs) with different pixel densities, focusing on their response across a wide dynamic range. Using an experimental setup that combines laser source and photomultiplier tubes (PMTs) for accurate light intensity calibration, we evaluated SiPMs with pixel counts up to 244,719 and pixel sizes down to 6 micrometers. Using an experimental setup that combines laser source and photomultiplier tubes (PMTs) for accurate light intensity calibration, we evaluated SiPMs with pixel counts up to 244,719 and pixel sizes down to 6 micrometers. To complement the experimental findings, a "Toy Monte Carlo" was developed to replicate the SiPMs' reponses under different lighting conditions, incorporating essential parameters such as pixel density and photon detection efficiency. The simulations aligned well with the experimental results for laser light, demonstrating similar nonlinearity trends. For BGO scintillation light, the simulations, which included multi-firing effect of pixels, showed significantly higher photon counts compared to the laser simulations. Furthermore, the simulated response derived in this research offer a method to correct for SiPM saturation effect, enabling accurate measurements in high-energy events even with SiPMs having a limited number of pixels. △ Less

Abstract: We present a measurement of $|V_{ub}|$ from a simultaneous study of the charmless semileptonic decays $B^0\toπ^- \ell^+ ν_{\ell}$ and $B^+\toρ^0 \ell^+ν_{\ell}$, where $\ell = e, μ$. This measurement uses a data sample of 387 million $B\overline{B}$ meson pairs recorded by the Belle~II detector at the SuperKEKB electron-positron collider between 2019 and 2022. The two decays are reconstructed with… ▽ More We present a measurement of $|V_{ub}|$ from a simultaneous study of the charmless semileptonic decays $B^0\toπ^- \ell^+ ν_{\ell}$ and $B^+\toρ^0 \ell^+ν_{\ell}$, where $\ell = e, μ$. This measurement uses a data sample of 387 million $B\overline{B}$ meson pairs recorded by the Belle~II detector at the SuperKEKB electron-positron collider between 2019 and 2022. The two decays are reconstructed without identifying the partner $B$ mesons. We simultaneously measure the differential branching fractions of $B^0\toπ^- \ell^+ ν_{\ell}$ and $B^+\toρ^0 \ell^+ν_{\ell}$ decays as functions of $q^2$ (momentum transfer squared). From these, we obtain total branching fractions $B(B^0\toπ^- \ell^+ ν_{\ell}) = (1.516 \pm 0.042 (\mathrm{stat}) \pm 0.059 (\mathrm{syst})) \times 10^{-4}$ and $B(B^+\toρ^0 \ell^+ν_{\ell}) = (1.625 \pm 0.079 (\mathrm{stat}) \pm 0.180 (\mathrm{syst})) \times 10^{-4}$. By fitting the measured $B^0\toπ^- \ell^+ ν_{\ell}$ partial branching fractions as functions of $q^2$, together with constraints on the non-perturbative hadronic contribution from lattice QCD calculations, we obtain $|V_{ub}|$ = $(3.93 \pm 0.09 \pm 0.13 \pm 0.19) \times 10^{-3}$. Search for $η_{c}(2S)\to K^+ K^- η^{\prime}$ decay

In addition, the branching fractions of $χ_{c1}\to K^+ K^- η^{\prime}$ and $χ_{c2}\to K^+ K^- η^{\prime}$ are updated to be $(8.47\pm0.09(\mathrm{stat.})\pm0.47(\mathrm{syst.}))\times 10^{-4}$ and $(1.53\pm0.04(\mathrm{stat.})\pm0.08(\mathrm{syst.}))\times 10^{-4}$, respectively. The rich $K^+ π^+ π^-$ spectrum is studied and the branching fractions of the resonant substructure associated with the prominent $K_1(1270)^+$ contribution are measured. The data cannot be described by conventional strange and charmonium resonances only. An amplitude model with 53 components is developed comprising 11 hidden-charm exotic hadrons. New production mechanisms for charged charmonium-like states are observed. Significant resonant activity with spin-parity $J^P = 1^+$ in the $ψ(2S) π^+$ system is confirmed and a multi-pole structure is demonstrated. The spectral decomposition of the $ψ(2S) π^+ π^-$ invariant-mass structure, dominated by $X^0 \to ψ(2S) ρ(770)^0$ decays, broadly resembles the $J/ψφ$ spectrum observed in $B^+ \to J/ψφK^+$ decays. Here the third (external) systematic is from $\mathcal{B}(Λ_{c}^{+} \to Λπ^+ η)$. The product of the decay constant and Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element $|V_{cs}|$ is determined to be $f_{D_s^+}|V_{cs}|=(246.5\pm5.9_{\rm stat}\pm3.6_{\rm syst}\pm0.5_{\rm input})_{μν}~\mathrm{MeV}$ and $f_{D_s^+}|V_{cs}|=(252.7\pm3.6_{\rm stat}\pm4.5_{\rm syst}\pm0.6_{\rm input}))_{τν}~\mathrm{MeV}$, respectively. Taking the value of $|V_{cs}|$ from a global fit in the Standard Model, we obtain ${f_{D^+_s}}=(252.8\pm6.0_{\rm stat}\pm3.7_{\rm syst}\pm0.6_{\rm input})_{μν}$ MeV and ${f_{D^+_s}}=(259.2\pm3.6_{\rm stat}\pm4.5_{\rm syst}\pm0.6_{\rm input})_{τν}$ MeV, respectively. Conversely, taking the value for $f_{D_s^+}$ from the latest lattice quantum chromodynamics calculation, we obtain $|V_{cs}| =(0.986\pm0.023_{\rm stat}\pm0.014_{\rm syst}\pm0.003_{\rm input})_{μν}$ and $|V_{cs}| = (1.011\pm0.014_{\rm stat}\pm0.018_{\rm syst}\pm0.003_{\rm input})_{τν}$, respectively. △ Less

First Measurement of Solar $^8$B Neutrino Flux through Coherent Elastic Neutrino-Nucleus Scattering in PandaX-4T

Abstract: The PandaX-4T liquid xenon detector at the China Jinping Underground Laboratory is used to measure the solar $^8$B neutrino flux by detecting neutrinos through coherent scattering with xenon nuclei. Data samples requiring the coincidence of scintillation and ionization signals (paired), as well as unpaired ionization-only signals (US2), are selected with energy threshold of approximately 1.1 keV (… ▽ More The PandaX-4T liquid xenon detector at the China Jinping Underground Laboratory is used to measure the solar $^8$B neutrino flux by detecting neutrinos through coherent scattering with xenon nuclei. Data samples requiring the coincidence of scintillation and ionization signals (paired), as well as unpaired ionization-only signals (US2), are selected with energy threshold of approximately 1.1 keV (0.33 keV) nuclear recoil energy. Combining the commissioning run and the first science run of PandaX-4T, a total exposure of 1.25 and 1.04 tonne$\cdot$year are collected for the paired and US2, respectively. After unblinding, 3 and 332 events are observed with an expectation of 2.8$\pm$0.5 and 251$\pm$32 background events, for the paired and US2 data, respectively. A combined analysis yields a best-fit $^8$B neutrino signal of 3.5 (75) events from the paired (US2) data sample, with $\sim$37\% uncertainty, and the background-only hypothesis is disfavored at 2.64$σ$ significance. This gives a solar $^8$B neutrino flux of ($8.4\pm3.1$)$\times$10$^6$ cm$^{-2}$s$^{-1}$, consistent with the standard solar model prediction. This is the first indication of solar $^8$B neutrino ``fog'' in a dark matter direct detection experiment. △ Less

Supernova Pointing Capabilities of DUNE

A highly effective method of reconstructing supernova directions within the Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE) is introduced. The supernova neutrino pointing resolution is studied by simulating and reconstructing electron-neutrino charged-current absorption on $^{40}$Ar and elastic scattering of neutrinos on electrons. Procedures to reconstruct individual interactions, including a newly developed technique called ``brems flipping'', as well as the burst direction from an ensemble of interactions are described. Performance of the burst direction reconstruction is evaluated for supernovae happening at a distance of 10 kpc for a specific supernova burst flux model. The pointing resolution is found to be 3.4 degrees at 68% coverage for a perfect interaction-channel classification and a fiducial mass of 40 kton, and 6.6 degrees for a 10 kton fiducial mass respectively. Assuming a 4% rate of charged-current interactions being misidentified as elastic scattering, DUNE's burst pointing resolution is found to be 4.3 degrees (8.7 degrees) at 68% coverage. △ Less

Abstract: We report measurements of time-dependent $CP$ asymmetries in $B^0 \to K^0_S π^0 γ$ decays based on a data sample of $(388\pm6)\times10^6$ $B\bar{B}$ events collected at the $Υ(4S)$ resonance with the Belle II detector. The Belle II experiment operates at the SuperKEKB asymmetric-energy $e^+e^-$ collider. We measure decay-time distributions to determine $CP$-violating parameters $S$ and $C$. The Belle II experiment operates at the SuperKEKB asymmetric-energy $e^+e^-$ collider. We measure decay-time distributions to determine $CP$-violating parameters $S$ and $C$. We determine these parameters for two ranges of $K^0_S π^0$ invariant mass: $m(K^0_S π^0)\in (0.8, 1.0)$ $GeV/c^2$, which is dominated by $B^0 \to K^{*0} (\to K^0_S π^0) γ$ decays, and a complementary region $m(K^0_S π^0)\in (0.6, 0.8)\cup(1.0, 1.8)$ $GeV/c^2$. The absolute branching fractions of $D_{s1}(2536)^- \rightarrow \bar{D}^{*0}K^-$ and $D_{s2}^*(2573)^- \rightarrow \bar{D}^0K^-$ are measured for the first time to be… ▽ More The $e^+e^-\rightarrow D_s^+D_{s1}(2536)^-$ and $e^+e^-\rightarrow D_s^+D^*_{s2}(2573)^-$ processes are studied using data samples collected with the BESIII detector at center-of-mass energies from 4.530 to 4.946~GeV. The absolute branching fractions of $D_{s1}(2536)^- \rightarrow \bar{D}^{*0}K^-$ and $D_{s2}^*(2573)^- \rightarrow \bar{D}^0K^-$ are measured for the first time to be $(35.9\pm 4.8\pm 3.5)\%$ and $(37.4\pm 3.1\pm 4.6)\%$, respectively. The measurements are in tension with predictions based on the assumption that the $D_{s1}(2536)$ and $D_{s2}^*(2573)$ are dominated by a bare $c\bar{s}$ component. The $e^+e^-\rightarrow D_s^+D_{s1}(2536)^-$ and $e^+e^-\rightarrow D_s^+D^*_{s2}(2573)^-$ cross sections are measured, and a resonant structure at around 4.6~GeV with a width of 50~MeV is observed for the first time with a statistical significance of $15σ$ in the $e^+e^-\rightarrow D_s^+D^*_{s2}(2573)^-$ process. It could be the $Y(4626)$ found by the Belle collaboration in the $D_s^+D_{s1}(2536)^{-}$ final state, since they have similar masses and widths. Abstract: A high precision measurement of the branching fraction of the decay $J/ψ\to p \bar{p} η$ is performed using $(10 087 \pm 44) \times 10^6$ $J/ψ$ events recorded by the {BESIII} detector at the {BEPCII} storage ring. The branching fractions of the two decays $J/ψ\to p \bar{p} η(η\to γγ)$ and $J/ψ\to p \bar{p} η(η\to π^+ π^- π^0)$ are measured individually to be… ▽ More A high precision measurement of the branching fraction of the decay $J/ψ\to p \bar{p} η$ is performed using $(10 087 \pm 44) \times 10^6$ $J/ψ$ events recorded by the {BESIII} detector at the {BEPCII} storage ring. Both results are compatible within their uncorrelated systematic uncertainties. The combined result is $\mathcal{B}(J/ψ\to p \bar{p} η)=(1.495 \pm 0.001 \pm 0.023)\times\,10^{-3}$ where the first uncertainty is the combined statistical uncertainty and the second one the combined systematic uncertainty of both analyses, incorporating correlations between them. Measurement of the integrated luminosity of data samples collected during 2019-2022 by the Belle II experiment

Abstract: A series of data samples was collected with the Belle II detector at the SuperKEKB collider from March 2019 to June 2022. Pseudoscalar heavy quarkonium production in heavy ion ultraperipheral collision

Abstract: The inclusive production of pseudoscalar heavy quarkoniua ($η_c,~η_b$ and $B_c$) via photon-photon fusion in heavy ion ultraperipheral collision (UPC) are calculated to QCD next-to-leading order in the framework of non-relativistic QCD (NRQCD). The total cross section of $η_c$ produced in Pb-Pb UPC is 194 $\mathrm{nb}^{-1}$ and 1052 $\mathrm{nb}^{-1}$ at nucleon-nucleon c.m. energies… ▽ More The inclusive production of pseudoscalar heavy quarkoniua ($η_c,~η_b$ and $B_c$) via photon-photon fusion in heavy ion ultraperipheral collision (UPC) are calculated to QCD next-to-leading order in the framework of non-relativistic QCD (NRQCD). Abstract: We search for excited charmed baryons in the $Λ_c^+η$ system using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 980 $\rm fb^{-1}$. The data were collected by the Belle detector at the KEKB $e^{+}$$e^{-}$ asymmetric-energy collider. No significant signals are found in the $Λ_c^+η$ mass spectrum, including the known $Λ_c(2880)^+$ and $Λ_c(2940)^+$. We set upper limits at 90\% credibility level on ratios of branching fractions of $Λ_c(2880)^+$ and $Λ_c(2940)^+$ decaying to $Λ_c^+η$ relative to $Σ_c(2455)π$ of $<0.13$ for the $Λ_c(2880)^+$ and $<1.11$ for the $Λ_c(2940)^+$. No significant signal is observed and the upper limits at the 90\% confidence level on the product of the Born cross section $σ(e^+e^- \to φχ_{c1}(3872))$ and the branching fraction $\mathcal{B}[χ_{c1}(3872)\toπ^+π^- J/ψ]$ at 4.914 and 4.946 GeV are set to be 0.85 and 0.96 pb, respectively. Abstract: A sample of $pp$ collision data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.5 fb$^{-1}$ and collected by the LHCb experiment during Run 2, is used to measure the ratio of the lifetime of the $Ξ^-_b$ baryon to that of the $Λ^0_b$ baryon, $r_τ\equivτ_{Ξ^-_b}/τ_{Λ^0_b}$. This measurement improves the precision of the current world average of the $Ξ^-_b$ lifetime by about a factor of two, and is in good agreement with the most recent theoretical predictions. △ Less

Abstract: Using a sample of $(10087\pm 44)\times10^{6}$ $J/ψ$ events collected by the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, we search for the decay $X(1870)\to K^+ K^-η$ via the $J/ψ\to ωK^+ K^- η$ process for the first time. No significant $X(1870)$ signal is observed. Abstract: Based on $2.7 \times 10^9~ψ(3686)$ decays collected with the BESIII detector, the radiative decay $ψ(3686)\to\gamma2(π^{+}π^{-})η$ is investigated to measure properties of S- and P-wave charmonium states. The branching fraction of the decay $η_{c}(1S) \to 2(π^{+}π^{-})η$, which is found to have a strong dependence on the interference pattern between $η_c(1S)$ and non-$η_c(1S)$ processes, is measur… ▽ More Based on $2.7 \times 10^9~ψ(3686)$ decays collected with the BESIII detector, the radiative decay $ψ(3686)\to\gamma2(π^{+}π^{-})η$ is investigated to measure properties of S- and P-wave charmonium states. The branching fraction of the decay $η_{c}(1S) \to 2(π^{+}π^{-})η$, which is found to have a strong dependence on the interference pattern between $η_c(1S)$ and non-$η_c(1S)$ processes, is measured in both destructive and constructive interference scenarios for the first time. The mass and width of the $η_{c}(1S)$ are measured to be $M=(2984.14 \pm 0.13 \pm 0.38)$ MeV/$c^{2}$ and $Γ=(28.82 \pm 0.11 \pm 0.82)$ MeV, respectively. Clear signals for the decays of the $χ_{cJ}(J=0,1,2)$ and the $η_{c}(2S)$ to $2(π^{+}π^{-})η$ are also observed for the first time, and the corresponding branching fractions are measured. The ratio of the branching fractions between the $η_{c}(2S)$ and $η_{c}(1S)$ decays is significantly lower than the theoretical prediction, which might suggest different dynamics in their decays. △ Less

Abstract: We present measurements of the branching fractions of eight $\overline B{}^0\to D^{(*)+} K^- K^{(*)0}_{(S)}$, $B^{-}\to D^{(*)0} K^- K^{(*)0}_{(S)}$ decay channels. The results are based on data from SuperKEKB electron-positron collisions at the $Υ(4S)$ resonance collected with the Belle II detector, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $362~\text{fb}^{-1}$. The results are based on data from SuperKEKB electron-positron collisions at the $Υ(4S)$ resonance collected with the Belle II detector, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $362~\text{fb}^{-1}$. The event yields are extracted from fits to the distributions of the difference between expected and observed $B$ meson energy, and are efficiency-corrected as a function of $m(K^-K^{(*)0}_{(S)})$ and $m(D^{(*)}K^{(*)0}_{(S)})$ in order to avoid dependence on the decay model. These results include the first observation of $\overline B{}^0\to D^+K^-K_S^0$, $B^-\to D^{*0}K^-K_S^0$, and $\overline B{}^0\to D^{*+}K^-K_S^0$ decays and a significant improvement in the precision of the other channels compared to previous measurements. The helicity-angle distributions and the invariant mass distributions of the $K^- K^{(*)0}_{(S)}$ systems are compatible with quasi-two-body decays via a resonant transition with spin-parity $J^P=1^-$ for the $K^-K_S^0$ systems and $J^P= 1^+$ for the $K^-K^{*0}$ systems. Four charmonium(-like) states are observed decaying into $D^{\ast\pm}D^{\mp}$: $η_c(3945)$, $h_c(4000)$, $χ_{c1}(4010)$ and $h_c(4300)$, with quantum numbers $J^{PC}$ equal to $0^{-+}$, $1^{+-}$, $1^{++}$ and $1^{+-}$, respectively. At least three of these states have not been observed previously. In addition, the existence of the $T_{\bar{c}\bar{s}0}^{*}(2870)^{0}$ and $T_{\bar{c}\bar{s}1}^{*}(2900)^{0}$ resonances in the $D^-K^+$ mass spectrum, already observed in the $B^+ \to D^+ D^- K^+$ decay, is confirmed in a different production channel. △ Less

Measurements of the branching fractions of the $P$-wave charmonium spin-singlet state $h_c(^1P_1) \to h^+ h^-π^0/η$

Abstract: Based on $(2712.4\pm 14.3)\times10^{6}$ $ψ(3686)$ events, we investigate four hadronic decay modes of the $P$-wave charmonium spin-singlet state $h_c(^1P_1) \to h^+ h^- π^0/η$ ($h=π$ or $K$) via the process $ψ(3686) \to π^{0}h_c$ at BESIII. The $h_c \to π^+ π^- π^0$ decay is observed with a significance of 9.6$σ$ after taking into account systematic uncertainties. The branching fractions of these decays are measured to be $\mathcal{B}(h_c \to π^+ π^- π^0)=(1.36\pm0.16\pm0.14)\times10^{-3}$, $\mathcal{B}(h_c \to K^+ K^- π^0)=(3.26\pm0.84\pm0.36)\times10^{-4}$, and $\mathcal{B}(h_c \to K^+ K^- η)=(3.13\pm1.08\pm0.38)\times10^{-4}$, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic. No significant signal of $h_c\toπ^+π^-η$ is found, and the upper limit of its decay branching fraction is determined to be $\mathcal{B}(h_c\toπ^+π^-η) < 4.0 \times 10^{-4}$ at 90% confidence level. △ Less

The branching fractions are ${\mathcal B}(D_s^+\to ηe^+ν_e)=(2.35\pm0.11_{\rm stat}\pm 0.10_{\rm syst})\%,$ ${\mathcal B}(D_s^+\to η^\prime e^+ν_e)=(0.82\pm0.09_{\rm stat}\pm 0.04_{\rm syst})\%,$ ${\mathcal B}(D_s^+\to φe^+ν_e)=(2.21\pm0.16_{\rm stat}\pm 0.11_{\rm syst})\%,$ ${\mathcal B}(D_s^+\to f_0(980) e^+ν_e,f_0(980)\toπ^+π^-)=(0.15\pm0.02_{\rm stat}\pm 0.01_{\rm syst})\%,$ ${\mathcal B}(D_s^+\to K^0 e^+ν_e)=(0.24\pm0.04_{\rm stat}\pm 0.01_{\rm syst})\%,$ and ${\mathcal B}(D_s^+\to K^{*0} e^+ν_e)=(0.19\pm0.03_{\rm stat}\pm 0.01_{\rm syst})\%.$ These results are consistent with those measured via the $e^+e^-\to D_s^{*\pm}D_s^{\mp}$ process by BESIII and CLEO. The hadronic transition form factors $D^+_s\to ηe^+ν_e$, $D^+_s\to η^\prime e^+ν_e$, and $D^+_s\to K^0 e^+ν_e$ at four-momentum transfer squared $q^2$ = 0 are determined to be $f^η_+(0) = 0.482 \pm 0.011_{\rm stat} \pm 0.009_{\rm syst}\pm0.004_{\rm input},$ $f^{η^{\prime}}_+(0) = 0.562 \pm 0.031_{\rm stat} \pm 0.014_{\rm syst}\pm0.003_{\rm input},$ and $f^{K^0}_+(0) = 0.624 \pm 0.052_{\rm stat} \pm 0.013_{\rm syst}\pm0.002_{\rm input}.$ △ Less

With over 3.6 million signal candidates, an optimized candidate selection, improved treatment of backgrounds and efficiencies, refined energy calibration, and an energy response model for the capture-on-hydrogen sensitive… ▽ More This Letter reports the first measurement of the oscillation amplitude and frequency of reactor antineutrinos at Daya Bay via neutron capture on hydrogen using 1958 days of data. With over 3.6 million signal candidates, an optimized candidate selection, improved treatment of backgrounds and efficiencies, refined energy calibration, and an energy response model for the capture-on-hydrogen sensitive region, the relative $\overlineν_{e}$ rates and energy spectra variation among the near and far detectors gives $\mathrm{sin}^22θ_{13} = 0.0759_{-0.0049}^{+0.0050}$ and $Δm^2_{32} = (2.72^{+0.14}_{-0.15})\times10^{-3}$ eV$^2$ assuming the normal neutrino mass ordering, and $Δm^2_{32} = (-2.83^{+0.15}_{-0.14})\times10^{-3}$ eV$^2$ for the inverted neutrino mass ordering. This estimate of $\sin^2 2θ_{13}$ is consistent with and essentially independent from the one obtained using the capture-on-gadolinium sample at Daya Bay. The combination of these two results yields $\mathrm{sin}^22θ_{13}= 0.0833\pm0.0022$, which represents an 8% relative improvement in precision regarding the Daya Bay full 3158-day capture-on-gadolinium result. △ Less

Amplitude analysis of the radiative decay $B^0_s\to K^+K^-γ$

Abstract: A search for radiative decay of $B^0_s$ mesons to orbitally excited $K^+K^-$ states is performed using proton proton collisions recorded by the \mbox{LHCb}\xspace experiment, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9~fb$^{-1}$. The dikaon spectrum in the mass range $m_{KK}<2400$~{\ensuremath{\,\text{Me\kern -0.1em V\!/}c^2}\xspace} is dominated by the $φ(1020)$ resonance that accounts for alm… ▽ More A search for radiative decay of $B^0_s$ mesons to orbitally excited $K^+K^-$ states is performed using proton proton collisions recorded by the \mbox{LHCb}\xspace experiment, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9~fb$^{-1}$. The dikaon spectrum in the mass range $m_{KK}<2400$~{\ensuremath{\,\text{Me\kern -0.1em V\!/}c^2}\xspace} is dominated by the $φ(1020)$ resonance that accounts for almost 70$\%$ of the decay rate. Considering the possible contributions of $f_2{(1270)}$, $f'_2{(1525)}$ and $f_2{(2010)}$ meson states, the overall tensor contribution to the amplitude is measured to be \begin{equation} {\cal F}_{\{f_2\}}=16.8\pm 0.5\mathrm{~(stat.)}\pm0.7\mathrm{~(syst.)}\%,\nonumber \end{equation} mostly dominated by the $f'_2(1525)$ state. Several statistically equivalent solutions are obtained for the detailed resonant structure depending on whether the smaller amplitudes interfere destructively or constructively with the dominant amplitude. The preferred solution that corresponds to the lowest values of the fit fractions along with constructive interference leads to the relative branching ratio measurement \begin{equation} \frac{{\cal B}(B^0_s\to f'_2γ)}{{\cal B}(B^0_s\toφγ)}= 19.4^{+0.9}_{-0.8}\mathrm{~(stat.)}{}^{+1.4}_{-0.5}\mathrm{~(syst.)}\pm0.5\mathrm{~(\cal{B})}\%\nonumber, \end{equation} where the last uncertainty is due to the ratio of measured branching fractions to the $K^+K^-$ final state. This result represents the first observation of the radiative $B^0_s\to f'_2(1525)γ$ decay, which is the second radiative transition observed in the $B^0_s$ sector. △ Less

Abstract: We report the result of a search for the rare decay $B^{0} \to γγ$ using a combined dataset of $753\times10^{6}$ $B\bar{B}$ pairs collected by the Belle experiment and $387\times10^{6}$ $B\bar{B}$ pairs collected by the Belle II experiment from decays of the $\rm Υ(4S)$ resonance produced in $e^{+}e^{-}$ collisions.
