We present a (Las Vegas) algorithm for explicitly computing the simple objects of the categorical (Drinfeld) center of a spherical fusion category. Our approach is based on decomposing the images of simple objects under the induction functor from the category to its center. We have implemented this algorithm in a general-purpose software framework TensorCategories.jl for tensor categories that we develop within the open-source computer algebra system OSCAR. While the required computations are still too heavy to investigate standard examples whose center is not yet known up to some equivalence, our algorithm has the advantage of determining explicit half-braidings for the simple central objects, avoiding abstract equivalences and the like. Furthermore, it also works over not necessarily algebraically closed fields, and this yields new explicit examples of non-split modular categories.

The center of the asymptotic Hecke category and unipotent character sheaves

In 2015, Lusztig [Bull. Inst. Math. Acad. Sin. In 2015, Lusztig [Bull. Inst. Math. Acad. Sin. (N.S.)10(2015), no.1, 1-72] showed that for a connected reductive group over an algebraic closure of a finite field the associated (geometric) Hecke category admits a truncation in a two-sided Kazhdan--Lusztig cell, making it a categorification of the asymptotic algebra (J-ring), and that the categorical center of this "asymptotic Hecke category" is equivalent to the category of unipotent character sheaves supported in the cell. Subsequently, Lusztig noted that an asymptotic Hecke category can be constructed for any finite Coxeter group using Soergel bimodules. Lusztig conjectured that the centers of these categories are modular tensor categories (which was then proven by Elias and Williamson) and that for non-crystallographic finite Coxeter groups the S-matrices coincide with the Fourier matrices that were constructed in the 1990s by Lusztig, Malle, and Broué--Malle. If the conjecture is true, the centers may be considered as categories of "unipotent character sheaves" for non-crystallographic finite Coxeter groups.
In this paper, we show that the conjecture is true for dihedral groups and for some (we cannot resolve all) cells of H3 and H4. The key ingredient is the method of H-reduction and the identification of the (reduced) asymptotic Hecke category with known categories whose center is already known as well. We conclude by studying the asymptotic Hecke category and its center for some infinite Coxeter groups with a finite cell.

A conjecture by the second author, proven by Bonnafé-Rouquier, says that the multiplicity matrix for baby Verma modules over the restricted rational Cherednik algebra has rank one over $\mathbb{Q}$ when restricted to each block of the algebra. In this paper, we show that if $H$ is a prime algebra that is a free Frobenius extension over a regular central subalgebra $R$, and the centre of $H$ is normal Gorenstein, then each central quotient $A$ of $H$ by a maximal ideal $\mathfrak{m}$ of $R$ satisfies the rank one property with respect to the Cartan matrix of $A$. Examples where the result is applicable include graded Hecke algebras, extended affine Hecke algebras, quantized enveloping algebras at roots of unity, non-commutative crepant resolutions of Gorenstein domains and 3 and 4 dimensional PI Skylanin algebras. In particular, since the multiplicity matrix for restricted rational Cherednik algebras has the rank one property if and only if its Cartan matrix does, our result provides a different proof of the original conjecture.

We present a series of algorithms for computing geometric and representation-theoretic invariants of Calogero-Moser spaces and rational Cherednik algebras associated to complex reflection groups. Especially, we are concerned with Calogero-Moser families (which correspond to the $\mathbb{C}^\times$-fixed points of the Calogero-Moser space) and cellular characters (a proposed generalization by Rouquier and the first author of Lusztig's constructible characters based on a Galois covering of the Calogero-Moser space). To compute the former, we devised an algorithm for determining generators of the center of the rational Cherednik algebra (this algorithm has several further applications), and to compute the latter we developed an algorithmic approach to the construction of cellular characters via Gaudin operators. We have implemented all our algorithms in the Cherednik Algebra Magma Package (CHAMP) by the second author and used this to confirm open conjectures in several new cases. As an interesting application in birational geometry we are able to determine for many exceptional complex reflection groups the chamber decomposition of the movable cone of a $\mathbb{Q}$-factorial terminalization (and thus the number of non-isomorphic relative minimal models) of the associated symplectic singularity.

This is the symplectic analogue of Steinberg's Theorem for complex reflection groups. Using computational results required in the proof, we show the non-existence of symplectic resolutions for symplectic quotient singularities corresponding to three exceptional symplectic reflection groups, thus reducing further the number of cases for which the existence question remains open. Another immediate consequence of our result is that the singular locus of the symplectic quotient singularity associated to a symplectic reflection group is pure of codimension two.

Our proof generalizes a recent construction of Andersen, Stroppel, and Tubbenhauer. This result raises the question of whether all cellular algebras can be realized in this way. The construction also works without the presence of a duality and yields standard bases, in the sense of Du and Rui, which have similar combinatorial features to cellular bases. As an application, we obtain standard bases -- and thus a general theory of "cell modules" -- for Hecke algebras associated to finite complex reflection groups (as introduced by Broué, Malle, and Rouquier) via category $\mathcal{O}$ of the rational Cherednik algebra. For real reflection groups these bases are cellular.

Over the past two decades, there has been much progress on the classification of symplectic linear quotient singularities V/G admitting a symplectic (equivalently, crepant) resolution of singularities. The classification is almost complete but there is an infinite series of groups in dimension 4 - the symplectically primitive but complex imprimitive groups - and 10 exceptional groups up to dimension 10, for which it is still open. In this paper, we treat the remaining infinite series and prove that for all but possibly 39 cases there is no symplectic resolution. We thereby reduce the classification problem to finitely many open cases. We furthermore prove non-existence of a symplectic resolution for one exceptional group, leaving 39+9=48 open cases in total. We do not expect any of the remaining cases to admit a symplectic resolution.

We consider self-injective finite-dimensional graded algebras admitting a triangular decomposition. In a preceding paper, we have shown that the graded module category of such an algebra is a highest weight category and has tilting objects in the sense of Ringel. In this paper we focus on the degree zero part of the algebra, the core of the algebra. We show that the core captures essentially all relevant information about the graded representation theory. Using tilting theory, we show that the core is cellular. We then describe a canonical construction of a highest weight cover, in the sense of Rouquier, of this cellular algebra using a finite subquotient of the highest weight category. Thus, beginning with a self-injective graded algebra admitting a triangular decomposition, we canonically construct a quasi-hereditary algebra which encodes key information, such as graded multiplicities, of the original algebra. Our results are general and apply to a wide variety of examples, including restricted enveloping algebras, Lusztig's small quantum groups, hyperalgebras, finite quantum groups, and restricted rational Cherednik algebras. We expect that the cell modules and quasi-hereditary algebras introduced here will provide a new way of understanding these important examples.

We study the behavior of blocks in flat families of finite-dimensional algebras. In a general setting we construct a finite directed graph encoding a stratification of the base scheme according to the block structures of the fibers. This graph can be explicitly obtained when the central characters of simple modules of the generic fiber are known. We show that the block structure of an arbitrary fiber is completely determined by "atomic" block structures living on the components of a Weil divisor. As a byproduct, we deduce that the number of blocks of fibers defines a lower semicontinuous function on the base scheme. We furthermore discuss how to obtain information about the simple modules in the blocks by generalizing and establishing several properties of decomposition matrices by Geck and Rouquier.

Part of this package is a new general Las Vegas algorithm for computing the head and the constituents of a module with simple head in characteristic zero which we develop here theoretically. This algorithm is very successful when applied to Verma modules for restricted rational Cherednik algebras and it allows us to answer several questions posed by Gordon in some specific cases. We could determine the decomposition matrices of the Verma modules, the graded G-module structure of the simple modules, and the Calogero-Moser families of the generic restricted rational Cherednik algebra for around half of the exceptional complex reflection groups. In this way we could also confirm Martino's conjecture for several exceptional complex reflection groups.

We establish a genericity property in the representation theory of a flat family of finite-dimensional algebras in the sense of Cline-Parshal-Scott. More precisely, we show that the decomposition matrices as introduced by Geck and Rouquier of an algebra which is free of finite dimension over a noetherian integral domain and which splits over the fraction field of this ring are generically trivial, i.e., they are trivial in an open neighborhood of the generic point of the spectrum of the base ring. This generalizes a classical result by Brauer in modular representation theory of finite groups. We furthermore show that this is true precisely on an open set in case all fibers of the algebra split. In this way we get a stratification of the base scheme such that decomposition maps are trivial on each stratum. Moreover, this defines a new discriminant of such algebras which generalizes Schur elements of simple modules for symmetric split semisimple algebras. We provide some extensions to the theory of decomposition maps allowing us to work without the usual normality assumption on the base ring.

The Calogero-Moser families are partitions of the irreducible characters of a complex reflection group derived from the block structure of the corresponding restricted rational Cherednik algebra. It was conjectured by Martino in 2009 that the generic Calogero-Moser families coincide with the generic Rouquier families, which are derived from the corresponding Hecke algebra. This conjecture is already proven for the whole infinite series G(m,p,n) and for the exceptional group G4. A combination of theoretical facts with explicit computations enables us to determine the generic Calogero-Moser families for the nine exceptional groups G4, G5, G6, G8, G10, G23=H3, G24, G25, and G26. We show that the conjecture holds for all these groups - except surprisingly for the group G25, thus being the first and only-known counter-example so far.

Motivated by the work of Jürgen Neukirch and Ivan Fesenko we propose a general definition of an abelian class field theory from a purely group-theoretical and functorial point of view. This definition allows a modeling of abelian extensions of a field inside more general objects than the invariants of a discrete module over the absolute Galois group of the field. The main objects serving as such models are cohomological Mackey functors as they have enough structure to make several reduction theorems of classical approaches work in this generalized setting and, as observed by Fesenko, they even have enough structure to make Neukirch's approach to class field theories via Frobenius lifts work. This approach is discussed in full detail and in its most general setting, including the pro-P setting proposed by Neukirch. As an application and justification of this generalization we describe Fesenko's approach to class field theory of higher local fields of positive characteristic, where the modeling of abelian extensions takes place inside the cohomological Mackey functor formed by the Milnor-Paršin K-groups.
The motivation for this work (which is the author's Diplom thesis) was the attempt to understand what a class field theory is and to give a single-line definition which captures certain common aspects of several instances of class field theories. We do not claim to prove any new theorem here, but we think that our general and uniform approach offers a point of view not discussed in this form in the existing literature.
