『AXIS』の最新号が届きました。連載「未来技術報告」で、産総研の合体変形ロボット「M-TRAN」について書いています。このプロジェクトのリーダーの黒河治久さんに、「グレースフル・デグラデーション」（グレースフル・デグレデーション／graceful degradation）という素敵な言葉を教わりました。 直訳すると優美な減衰とか優雅な劣化という意味です。性能劣化が余儀なくされた場合でも、その劣化を出来るかぎり緩やかにとどめ、全体のシステムへの影響を最低限に抑えることです。何らかの故障や誤操作があってもシステムが正しく運行され、故障自体を修復してしまう自律分散並列システムをつくりだす「フェール・セーフ」や「フォールト・トレランス」の研究から生まれた言葉です。冗長性（リダンダンシー）やロバストネスにも深く関連します。 その話を聞いて、あっサッカーでもあるなと思いました。退場者を出したときとか

2012年6月9日 著 6月6日の覚え書き。品川にあるTHE GRAND HALLで催された、Internet Explorer 10 移行セミナーに参加してきました。冒頭、Xbox 360上にバージョン10ベースのIEが乗るよー、というニュースが紹介されました。これはこれで良いニュースですね......IEをより多種多様なデバイス上で動作させるということは、自らにより高いレベルでの標準準拠と相互運用性を課すことになるわけですから（既にそういう流れにはなってますけど）。セミナーは三部構成で、以下のプログラムにあるような充実っぷりでした。特に春日井さんと羽田野さんのお話が面白かった（し、春日井さんにはセミナーの前後にご挨拶する機会があって良かった）です。 Internet Explorer 10 概要と変更点 春日井 良隆氏 最新開発支援ツールを使ったデバッグ対応 物江 修氏 Progres
