CoreOS Meetup Tokyo #1 を開催した CoreOS Meetup Tokyo #1 - connpass 今回のMeetupは，etcd2.0のリリースやrktの登場，5月のCoreOS Fest 2015，また各社のCoreOSの導入事例の兆しを受けての開催．といってもCoreOSの利用事例はまだ少ないと感じたため，CoreOSだけではなくその関連技術やプラットフォームをテーマとした．それでも20分の発表8本というとても濃いMeetupとなり非常に勉強になった．またそこまで人は集まらないと思っていたところ100人枠に350人の応募があり，注目の高さにも驚いた（次回は抽選にするなど考慮します）． 発表資料は全て，CoreOS Meetup Tokyo #1 - 資料一覧 - connpassにまとめてある．が，簡単にMeetupの内容をまとめておく．各種テーマが散ってい
昨日2015/04/09開催されたCoreOS Meetup Tokyo #1で登壇させて頂きました。ホストして頂いたみなさん、会場を提供頂いたフリークアウトさん、ありがとうございました。rktの話題もキャッチアップできたし、CoreOSのリリースの仕組みにも触れられて良かったです。CRIUすごくおもしろいし未来かんじました。 speakerdeck.com pixivでCoreOSを運用してみて、こういうこと考えないといけないよね、って思ったことを雑多に羅列しておきました。CoreOSでクラスタを用意するのは良いんですが、デプロイの仕組みだったり、オーケストレーションの仕組みだったり、ロギングの仕組みだったり必要で、結局PaaSにあるような機能は必要になるよね、っていうのが結論で、そうなったときに、本当に毎回全部用意する必要があるのかどうか、ちゃんと考えないといけないのでは、と最近考えて
4/9(木) に開催された CoreOS Meetup Tokyo #1 に行ってきました。 3時間の中でイントロ除いて発表が7つあり、かなり内容が濃かったです。 一番面白かったのは @kawamuray さんの Docker に CRIU を実装した発表でした。 CRIU はコンテナ界隈でも注目度が高い技術のようで、近い将来、この時デモで見たような機能が誰でも使えるようになるかと思うととても楽しみです。 また、Wantedly や pixiv で実際にプロダクション環境で運用している話も聞けたのは収穫でした。 コンテナ技術は運用ノウハウがまだ業界的に溜まっておらず、各社手探りでやっている印象を受けました。 一方で、@higebu さんの次のコメントが特に印象に残りました。 バグは何にでも存在するからバグを恐れてたら何もできないんだよな #coreosjp— Yuya Kusakabe (

rebuild.fmの今回のゲストはCoreOS Meetup Tokyoの@deeetさんでした。最近、CoreOS Meetup が話題になっていて、僕もCoreOS Meetup Tokyo #1で発表することになっているから、今回の rebuild.fm に興味深く聴きました。 僕が気になっていたのがこんな感じです。 Appc は一つのコンテナに複数のプロセスを実行できる これは確かに Appc と Docker の大きな哲学的な違いだね。複数のプロセスが同じマシンでともに動くというデザインパターンが多いのが複数の関係の強いプロセスをともに動かせるユースケースだと思います。これは確かにそうで、1周間で20億のコンテナを立ち上げるGoogleでは確かにこうパターンをよく使っている。けど、僕はどっちかというとDockerのコンテナとプロセスが１対１のパターンのほうが正しいと思っている。
