Net Applicationsから2013年4月におけるワールドワイドのデスクトップブラウザシェアが発表された。 4月はIE10が大きくシェアを伸ばし、6.02%を獲得してIE6の次につけた。5月にはIE6を抜いて5位以内に入るとみられる。IEのほかのバージョンは軒並みシェアを落としており、IE10への移行が進んでいるものとみられる。Firefoxも順調にシェアを増加させた。一方、Chromeは1年に渡ってシェアの減少が続いており、2013年4月も継続してシェアを減らした。

Macworld UKによると、Microsoftの｢Surface RT｣に標準搭載されたウェブブラウザ(IE10)の性能が驚くほど低い事が、各種WebブラウザのJavaScript実行速度を比較出来る“Peacekeeper”のベンチマークテスト結果から明らかになったそうです。 ｢Surface｣の“Peacekeeper”のスコアは348点と、1位の｢iPad (第4世代)｣の951点とはほど遠い数値となっており、最近発売された低価格タブレットの｢Nexus 7｣(489点)よりも劣る結果となっています。
