KIF意味論の話に入る前にもう一つの文献を紹介しておきます． 1975年のIJCAI(San Fransisco)で彼は論理側に立った論文「In Defense of Logic」を発表します．とは言っても，知識表現と意味論から見た論理の重要性を強調してですが．論理の「本当の価値は通常の薄っぺらな統語論にあるのではなく，それが提供する意味論にある」と． Pat曰く，「論理はある種の世界についてのある種の知識をどう言い表したらよいかという考えの集積である．論理のメタ理論とは，このクラスの表現言語を解析するための数学的道具立てを集めたものである．これらの道具立てが解析するものは，解釈器の挙動でもなく，稼動システムのプロセスの構造でもなく，ある言語の表現がある外部の世界についての主張していると受け取られるときの，その外延的(extensional)意味である．言語の意味と，その解釈器の挙動は，別

明けまして，おめでとうございます． 昨年から実に半年以上更新を途絶えてしまい，申し訳ありませんでした．ちゃんと普通に生きていましたが． 丁度１年ほど前に，W3Cの「RDF意味論」を和訳し，その解説もかきました．それから１年の間に，さらにRDFとOWLの統合における問題とか，RDF意味論とCLOS意味論の関係とか，私個人の認識が進みました．それで，この場を借りて，少し専門的になるかも知れませんが，RDF再入門ということで，すこしずつ１ヶ月１記事を目標に書いていきたいと思っています．再入門ですから，RDFやOWLは一応わかったつもりの方が読むと更によくわかるというような内容にしたいと思っています．今では，セマンティックWebやRDF，OWLを勉強するための日本語の本もたくさん出ていますので，はじめての方はそちらの方でお願いいたします． 第１回目は「RDF意味論」の著者である，Pat Hayes
