東京タワー（港区芝公園4）で9月23日、「東京タワーで初秋を味わおう」をテーマに、炭火焼きしたサンマ3333匹を無料で振る舞う「三陸・大船渡 東京タワーさんままつり」が開催される。 岩手県大船渡市が三陸（「さん」りく）海岸にあり、1986（昭和61）年に始まった「サンマの産地直送便」の先駆地であること、東京タワーが昭和「33」年開業、高さ「333」メートルという「さん（3）」つながりの縁があることから実現した同企画。今年で4回目を迎えるが、昨年は震災の復興活動を目的の一つに掲げ、過去最高の1万2000人が参加した。 今年も大船渡に水揚げされたサンマや水産物の販路拡大PRと、震災復興活動として「三陸・大船渡」の元気な姿を全国にアピールし、観光誘客拡大を図る目的で開催。当日は大船渡から直送された新鮮なサンマを、通称サンマレンジャーをはじめ、大船渡から上京したスタッフが、「炭火焼き」で香ばしく焼
