上下するロープで線路への転落などを防ぐ新型ホーム柵の試行運用が、ＪＲ神戸線六甲道駅（神戸市灘区）で１３日から始まっている。同駅では３枚扉の快速電車と４枚扉の普通電車が発着するが、どちらにも対応できる。来年３月まで試行し、順調なら乗降が多い他の駅にも広げるという。 従来のホームドアは乗降車口で横にスライドする方式。ＪＲ西日本の在来線では、東西線（４枚扉）の北新地と大阪天満宮（いずれも大阪市北区）の２駅にある。しかし京都線や阪和線など多くの駅では３枚扉と４枚扉の車両が混在するため、ＪＲ西は扉の位置が違っても対応できる独自のロープ昇降式ホーム柵を開発。昨年１２月から、ゆめ咲線の桜島駅（大阪市此花区）で試行運用した上で改良した。 新たなホーム柵は、車両が停車している範囲のステンレス製ロープが約２メートルの高さまで上がり、客を乗降させる。短い編成にもセンサーで対応し、車両がない場所ではロープが上がら
