すでに写真やビデオで見た、という方も多いと思いますが、イギリスのROLI社からとっても不思議な形状のキーボード、Seaboard RISEが発表され、国内でもエムアイセブンジャパンを通じて発売が開始されました。このSeaboard RISEは25鍵タイプと49鍵タイプの2種類があるのですが、見ても分かる通り、明らかに普通の鍵盤とは違うんです。 ペッタンこな形状であり、1つ1つのキーが繋がっているから、もはや鍵盤というかキーボードとは違うものなんですよね。実際ROLIでは、KeyboardならぬKeywaveと呼んでいるのですが、その素材はフニョフニョした触感で、ここをタッチしたり押し込んだりする形で演奏するこれまでに存在していなかった、まったく新しい楽器ともいえるデバイスなんです。私も、今回初めて触ってかなり驚いたので、これがどんなものなのか紹介していきたいと思います。
