Not being aware of learning strategies and their use may lead to students’ failure. Furthermore, conducting research on learning strategies is difficult as they are not observable directly and selecting a reliable method is an issue. Accordingly, this paper aims to investigate the significant contribution to the development of learning strategies within English Language Teaching (ELT) studies through reviewing three research-based related articles to adapt the findings to new research. The articles’ framework, designs, and methods investigated to choose the appropriate ones for a new study and ensure the reliability and validity of it. Regarding different sections of this paper, it explains the learning strategies related to the new study and describes its pedagogical context. Moreover, it compares and contrasts the articles’ research strategies and designs, methods of data collection...

Design/methodology/approach Drawing from the small businesses, the relationship between internal marketing orientation and performance is hypothesized and tested. A structural equation modeling (SEM) test with maximum likelihood estimation was performed to test the relationship between the research variables. Findings The results obtained from the SEM analyzes revealed that internal marketing orientation positively impacts the levels of financial and non-financial performance. The results also indicate that non-financial performance measures (that is, customer, internal process, learning and growth) directly affect financial performance. Originality/value This study unpacks the mechanism between internal marketing orientation and balanced scorecard outcome...

However, when they need to analyze the language, they have to learn the grammar. In recent years, learning grammar is an essential part of language learning. Although people could read, write and speak English with no specific knowledge of grammar until the end of the sixteenth century when the first grammar appeared (Greenbaum and Nelson, 2002), they were aware of the importance of the grammar knowledge . There are different types of grammar in the English language. Among the grammars, prescriptive and descriptive ones are more distinguished, therefore, I will discuss their background and approaches, criticize and evaluate their usefulness and consider their contribution towards English language teachers and teaching.

It first investigates the teaching and learning the English language in high schools in Iran. Subsequently, it discusses the impact of homegrown textbooks, traditional approaches and disciplined classrooms on the students. It explores the situation, teachers and learners to distinguish the current issues in teaching and learning English. Both environment and needs analysis were employed and appropriate data were collected through reviewing related books, articles, documents and learner observation. A coherent block of work for grade three high school students has been designed as a proposal to resolve the current issues. In designing materials, the emphasis is on authentic resources. Moreover, in designing the activities, the emphasis is on using various learning strategies and collaborative learning. Consequently, authentic materials along with collaborative activiti...

Furthermore, technology has changed teaching and learning languages. Web Assisted Language Learning (WALL), Technology-enhanced Language Learning (TELL), Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) and Mobile Assisted Language Learning (MALL) play crucial roles in this field. The focus of this study is on MALL. Mobile devices such as tablet computers, mobile Phones, MP3 and MP4 players and personal digital assistant that we can carry in our pockets can connect us to a variety of information sources whenever and wherever we go. There is considerable interest in employing these devices in the teaching and learning context. This paper explores MALL and the influence of mobile devices on both learning English and English vocabulary. The study investigates to what extent Iranian undergraduate students agree to use mobile devices to learn English in general and English vocabulary in particular. In addition, it tries to find whether they can use mobile devices to facilitate and support their English language acquisition. To achieve the result, 36 male and female undergraduate students were chosen at random and mixed method research was conducted. In this case study design, qualitative and quantitative data were collected. Having analysed the data, the results showed 72% of the students preferred to learn English through using mobile devices. Moreover, 64% of the students wanted to use vocabulary learning software for mobile devices to add to their word bank. The results also indicated that the students were interested in using modern technology inside and outside of the classroom and they realized the importance of English language effects on their future study, jobs and lives. Consequently, the results showed students’ positive opinion towards MALL.

Not being aware of learning strategies and how to use them may lead to students' failure. Since conducting research on learning strategies is difficult as they are not observable directly and selecting a reliable method is an issue, this paper aims to investigate the significant contribution to the development of learning strategies within Second Language Acquisition studies through reviewing three research-based related articles to adapt the findings to new research. Regarding different sections of this paper, it explains the learning strategies related to the new study and describes its pedagogical context. Moreover, it discusses the articles' research strategies, research designs, methods of data collection and data analysis, validity, reliability and ethics separately. It also considers their shortcomings and suggests some solutions. Furthermore, conclusion and general implications for the new research project are discussed. Finally, it decides to conduct a case study design, employ mixed method research to collect more reliable data, apply action research and administer Strategy Inventory of Language Learning (SILL) questionnaire, use descriptive and content analysis and cross-check the findings in order to recognize students' learning strategies usage.
