This year’s ERIE Conference, held July 25 in the Burke Center at Penn State Behrend, explored how closing equity gaps in the workforce could bring significant economic gains. Workforce parity would add $765 million annually to Erie’s economy, said Ken Louie, director of the Economic Research Institute of Erie.
A longstanding tradition is returning to Penn State Behrend this summer as the Smith Carillon welcomes performers from around the world to play free concerts for the campus. The bell tower is one of just 166 in the United States and includes 48 bells, ranging from a little over 6 inches wide to more than three feet, and offers a concert each Thursday evening throughout July.
