The measurements were conducted in two heating seasons for a duration of seven days (five weekdays, and two weekend days). Periods during the weekdays when there were classes and weekend days when there were no classes at school were analyzed separately. The measurement results show that the average concentrations of suspended particles PM 10 during the class period were 1.7 (GM) and 2.4 (MS) times higher than in the period without classes. The average concentrations of suspended particles PM 2.5 in both schools during the class period were 1.5 times higher than in the period without classes. In MS the average PM 10 and PM 2.5 concentrations during classes were above daily limit values for 3 of 5 working days. In contrast, there was no exceeding of the average daily limit values for concentrations of suspended particles during classes in GM. The results of measurements indicate that more attention should be paid to the way classrooms are cleaned to reduce the possibility of particles resuspension due to the movement of pupils during the teaching period.

The device consists of the control module, keyboard, sensor module, and low-cost sensors for the measurements of wind speed and direction, air temperature, relative air humidity, air pressure, and concentration of suspended particles (fractions PM 10 and PM2.5) in the air. The control board of the device is based on Arduino Mega 2560 microcontroller.

In the basic variant, the device enables the measurement of wind speed and direction, air temperature, relative air humidity, air pressure, and concentration of suspended particles (fractions PM10 and PM2.5) in the air. In the extended version, this device, in addition to the listed parameters, can be used for indicative measurements of carbon dioxide concentrations and concentrations of some easily volatile organic substances (formaldehyde, toluene) in the air. The device is based on Arduino Mega 2560 microcontroller and low-cost sensors.

The Government of the Republic of Serbia invested significant funds in the construction of a new copper smelter in Bor which began operating in 2016. The new copper smelter uses flash-smelting technology, so the emissions of waste gases from metallurgical plants are of different intensities and compositions than before. In the meantime, the mining and smelting basin of Bor goes through an ownership transformation in 2018. ZiJin, one of the world's leading mining companies in the production of copper and precious metals, became a strategic partner. The Serbia ZiJin Bor Copper launched a number of projects to increase mining and metallurgical production in Bor. The capacities of the copper smelter in Bor are being expanded during 2022-2023 by about 2.5 times and a new sulfuric acid factory and a new electrolysis plant is being built. The start of operation of the expanded facilities in the copper smelter is expected in the middle of 2023. This paper presents the results of air quality measurements in the city of Bor in the time period when the copper smelter in Bor is not working, due to reconstruction (June-December 2022). These measurements aimed to determine the level of air pollution at locations not part of the state or local air quality monitoring network. These measurements are of great importance because many people live in those areas. The obtained results will serve as a basis for future air quality monitoring when the copper smelter in Bor starts to operate again.

Breast thermography is a 15 minute non invasive test of physiology. It is a valuable procedure for alerting your doctor to changes that can indicate early stage breast disease. Abnormally reproducing cells demand greater nutrition through increased blood supply, thus generating higher concentrations of heat in specific areas. Objectives: Thermography's role in breast cancer and other breast disorders is to help in early detection and monitoring of abnormal physiology and the establishment of risk factors for the development or existence of cancer. When used with other procedures the best possible evaluation of breast health is made. Methods: The study analyses evidence for the existence of patients in 9 healthy volunteers (mean age ± SD 38.7 ± 3.7 years; range 35 – 45 years). Two infrared cameras at different wavelength ranges were used for thermographic control. In addition to thermography, temperature and microcirculato...

The high cost of professional automatic meteorological stations is a limiting factor for their wi... more The high cost of professional automatic meteorological stations is a limiting factor for their wider application. On the other hand, to better assess the impact of air pollution on human health, it is necessary to continuously monitor air quality and meteorological parameters in real-time in different microenvironments (part of the residential area, school environment, kindergartens, hospitals, factories). In the last ten years, devices for monitoring meteorological parameters that use low-cost sensors have been available on the market. Such meteorological stations consist of a number of low-cost sensors, microcontrollers, communication modules, and power supply modules. Such sensors have low electricity consumption, small size and are significantly cheaper than professional meteorological sensors. For this reason, they are easier to obtain and install. Low-cost meteorological sensors and meteorological stations have several times lower prices than professional ones (the prices of low-cost weather stations can vary from 200 to 1500 euros, while the prices of low-cost meteorological sensors vary from a few euros to a few hundred euros). However, the service life of low-cost meteorological stations and sensors is significantly lower compared to professional ones, as well as the accuracy of measuring meteorologicalvparameters (temperature ± 1°C, air humidity ± 5%). Cheap commercially available automatic meteorological stations generally do not have the ability to network and store measurement results.
