Flight Rising: Murktooth Bramblekeep

The Murktooth Bramblekeep was the holiday Familiar for the 2015 Trickmurk Circus event.  This Elemental Holiday took place at the end of February 2015.  The easiest way to obtain a holiday Familiar is to gather up the right amount of holiday currency while the event is going on.  Miss that “window” and it will be a lot more difficult to get that particular Familiar.

The Murktooth Bramblekeep cost 35 Shimmering Pinecones (the holiday currency that connects to the Trickmurk Circus).  All you have to do to get the holiday currency is Gather Items.  Make sure you use the dropdown box to select “Shadow”.  The Shimmering Pinecones will randomly drop during the Trickmurk Circus. All of the artwork in this post is copyright of Flight Rising.

Helping Vendel the Armorsmith (Season 2)

This blog is part of the series I am doing that focuses on my progress in Season 2 in Diablo III. So far, I haven’t played as much as I did during Season 1. I’m still having fun, that’s not the problem.

Instead, the difficulty I’m having is due to stuff outside the game. The pollen count has been “medium-high”, and this causes me have to take a lot of allergy medications (that make me sleepy). It sounds like a recipe for a very dead hard core Demon Hunter. Death by allergy.

So, I’m taking things slow. In this blog, I focus on Dusk the Demon Hunter’s progress through Act I Bounties (in Normal difficulty). I need one more Seasonal Monster Slaying Achievement from Act I, and then I can move him on to Act II Bounties. The screenshots you see in this blog were taken on February 24, 2015.

Elders of Northrend Achievement – Fail!

Most of the blogs I have written that feature Riglee, my Gnome Death Knight (DK), are about her attempt to solo a dungeon.  (It’s the “Riglee Does Dungeons” series).  This time, I did something a little bit different.  I wanted to see my DK, who is now Level 70 after doing some world events, could visit all of the Elders in Northrend.  Last time I tried this, she lacked Cold Weather Flying and only managed to reach a couple of Elders.

This time?  Things went a little bit better, but ultimately ended in failure.  There are two Elders that she simply cannot get to.  Maybe next year Riglee will be big enough to get to at least one of them.  The screenshots you see here were taken on February 25, 2015.

The Dwarves Celebrate Lunar Fest

Lunar Fest is a world event in World of Warcraft.  It corresponds to the Chinese New Year, or Lunar New Year, in the “real world”.  As you may have guessed, the dates that Lunar Fest takes place can change a little bit from year to year. The screenshots you see in this blog were taken on February 16, and February 19, 2015.

This blog is part of the series I am doing about The Dwarves.  My husband, Shawn, and I started playing two low level Dwarf characters together. Mine is Bradanna, who is a Priest. His is Hansbrix, a Hunter who is the reincarnation of what used to be his main character (now deleted). It was time to find out what these two low level Dwarves could do in Lunar Fest.

The Raven’s Wing and Homing Pads (Season 2)

This blog is part of the series I am doing that focuses on my progress in Season 2 of Diablo III. In this Season, I’m playing a hard core Demon Hunter named Dusk. My primary goal is to get him to Level 70 (in part because it unlocks some nice transmogs). If I accomplish that goal, I will pick a new one to go after.

I’ve been taking things slow this time around in part due to time constraints and also because I’ve been having some really bad allergy days. When that happens, I either end up on allergy drugs that make it hard to focus, or I fall asleep. Neither situation is good for playing hard core! In this blog, I focus on the fourth “session” I played in Season 2. These screenshots were taken on February 21, 2015.

The Dwarves Celebrate Love is In the Air

Love is in the Air is the name of a world event in World of Warcraft.  It corresponds to Valentine’s Day in the “real world”.  The exact dates the Love is in the Air event takes place can vary from year to year, but it always covers February 14.  In 2015, this world event came before Lunar fest (which felt strange to me).

Shawn and I decided to take our low level Dwarf characters and see what they could do in the Love is in the Air world event.  The “holidays” always include at least a few quests that low level characters can do.  This blog features the highlights of Hansbrix the Hunter’s, and Bradanna the Priest’s, shared experience in the “Valentine’s Day” event in WoW.  The screenshots you see in this blog are from February 5, February 7, February 8, February 9, and February 12, 2015.

Helping Rike the Apothecary (Season 2)

This blog is part of the series I am doing about my progress in Season 2 of Diablo III.  I’ve got a hard core Demon Hunter named Dusk and my goal is to get him to Level 70.  If I accomplish that goal, I will come up with another one to shoot for.

In Season 1, I played a soft core Barbarian named Gurr.  I started him in Story Mode, spent a lot of time there, and eventually moved on to some Adventure Mode.  For Season 2, I wanted to change the way I play Diablo III as much as I could.  Or, at the very least, do something different than the path I took through Season 1.  This blog shows my first attempt at soloing bounties in hard core.  The screenshots you see in this blog were taken on February 18, 2015.

The Dwarves Explore Dun Morogh

Shortly after the Warlords of Draenor expansion was released, Shawn decided to start playing World of Warcraft (WoW) again.  He wanted to start “from scratch” so he deleted his character and then created a new Level 1 version of it.  In other words, his original Hansbrix Dwarf Hunter disappeared from Azeroth and was reincarnated into a new Hansbrix Dwarf Hunter.

It just so happened that I had a low level Dwarf Priest that I rolled a long time ago and had been neglecting.  I think Bradanna was somewhere around Level 10 or so.  It didn’t take long for the new Hansbrix to catch up.

Taking Things Slow to the Jar of Souls (Season 2)

This blog is part of the series I am doing about my progress in Season 2 of Diablo III. This time around, I’m working on leveling up a hard core Demon Hunter named Dusk. My primary goal is to get him to Level 70 so I can unlock the transmogs that are exclusive to Season 2. If I accomplish that goal – I’ll pick another one to work towards.

The screenshots you see in this blog were taken on February 15, 2015. I decided to do some solo play through parts of Act I in Normal difficulty. In other words, I was playing it extremely safe. I was having a bad allergy day and was worried that this would affect my ability to focus on the game. So, I took things slow and hoped to level up my Demon Hunter a little bit more.

Heroes of the Storm: Beta – First Impressions

I was one of the lucky people who got into the Heroes of the Storm Technical Alpha.  I played it for a while (and blogged about it) but then ran into some computer related difficulties (that had nothing to do with the game).  In short, I’d managed to fill up the hard drive on the Mac laptop I was using at the time.  I had to delete the Technical Alpha (among many other things) just to make my computer function properly again.
