This paper presents a novel control strategy to calculate the reference compensation current of three phase DSTATCOM under distorted utility condition at instantaneous state. In this proposed approach digital FIR filters with cut off frequency 25,100 Hz of direct form structure have been implemented on FPGA to make the process faster. The performance of the system simulated in Matlab Platform and evaluated considering the source current total harmonic distortion. The VHDL design has been implemented using ISE10.1 tool from Xilinx. This is tested on a board with hardware configuration such as FPGA- XC2VP4 with on chip PowerPC-405 Processor, ADC AD9240-14 bit 10MSPS analog input channel, DAC AD7541-12-bit of conversion time–100ns with System clock 40 MHz. These harmonic current causes power quality (PQ) problems in distribution network. Indeed, this harmonic pollution is not only harmful to the distribution network but also it affects control equipment used in various sectors. It causes the degradation of the voltage at the point of common coupling PCC, the heating of the cables and transformers, the ageing of the material and the possible abnormal operations of sensitive electronic controlled equipment. Load compensation can solve PQ problems like harmonic elimination and reactive power compensation. Distribution Static Compensator(DSTATCOM) has been proved to be a suitable custom power device, which can eliminate harmonics and compensate react...

In this paper five control strategies viz. instantaneous p-q theory, synchronous reference frame Method(SRF), Modified SRF Method(MSRF), instantaneous symmetrical component theory(ISCT) and Average unit power factor theory(AUPFT) are compared for different two conditions. The performance of the system simulated in Matlab Platform and evaluated considering the source current total harmonic distortion. The result shows Modified SRF(Id-Iq) Method has improved system performance as compared to others. Index Terms — Modified SRF, SRF, p-q, ISCT, AUPFT. I.

Now a days, because of an increasing demand on wireless communication (like RADAR, satellite communication, mobile communication, broadcasting etc..) the beamforming technique plays a vital role for good transmission and reception purpose. By changing the phase and amplitude of the exciting currents in each of the antenna elements, it is possible to electronically scan the image lobe and/or place nulls in any direction. In beamforming, each users signal is multiplied with complex weights that adjust the magnitude and phase of the signal to and from each antenna. This causes the output from the array of antennas to form a transmit/receive beam in the desired direction and minimizes the output in other direction. In this paper we use different version of LMS adaptive algorithm (basically LMS and NLMS) to steer the antenna beam in particular desired direction. The radiation pattern of for each case ...

The proposed technique extracts reference current by considering instantaneous symmetrical component active power (ISCAP) theory based phase delay compensation (PDC) control technique. The proposed controller comprises positive sequence detector, PI-controller, low-pass filters (LPF) and hysteresis current controller. All these segments are configured on high speed, low cost field programmable gate arrays (FPGA) hardware resources intended to mitigate harmonics and compensate reactive power in power distribution network. Very high speed hardware description language (VHDL) implementation for each module are produced through system generator and implemented on SPARTAN-3 XC3S5000 FPGA chip through RT-XSG toolbox in Opal-RT platform. The performance of proposed controller is demonstrated through VHDL test bench, simulation...

The double negative property is being obtained by introducing unit cell structure. A unit cell consists of microstrip gaps and vias, whose behavior is equivalent to the combination of series capacitors and shunt inductors respectively. The via leads to negative permittivity and microstrip gap leads to negative permeability. The meta structure is used because, metamaterial enhances antenna properties as well as a high degree of miniaturization is possible as average cell size of metamaterial is less than a quarter of the guided wavelength. As a high radiation, impedance matching, gain and compactness can be achieved by the proposed antenna, it is very useful for wirelessly access network resources at home and elsewhere. Especially for downwardly compatible IEEE 802.11g wireless-fidelity (Wi-Fi) at 5 GHz. Using this metamaterial antenna the demerits of ordinary patch antenna like low gain and eff...
