Federico Prefumo is currently working as a Consultant Obstetrician at the University Hospital in Brescia, Italy. He obtained his medical degree at the University of Genoa, Italy, where he also completed specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He undertook his PhD thesis on uterine Doppler and trophoblast biology in the first trimester of pregnancy at St George's, University of London.His clinical and research interests include Doppler and biochemical screening of pregnancy complications (pre-eclampsia, fetal growth restriction), ultrasonographic and biochemical screening of aneuploidies, maternal cardiovascular function in pregnancy and management of complicated twin pregnancies.
