CURRENT PROJECTS
Soundscapes in the Past: This project brings together themes and techniques from archaeology,
anthropology, psychology, GIScience, and environmental science to explore the relationship between sound
and culture in archaeological contexts. Started in 2015, this project has led to the development and application
of GIS tools to model the flow and characteristics of sound throughout landscapes. Publications and
presentations resulting from this project are indicated by ª before the authors’ names.
Legacies of A. C. Parker: This project explores the intersection of the development and history of the
discipline of archaeology and the experience of indigenous people within colonial contexts, with a goal of
improving future archaeological practice. Started in 2018, this project draws upon the researcher’s professional
experience as both a government agency’s tribal liaison and as an archaeologist. Publications and presentations
resulting from the project are indicated by b before the authors’ names.
