I teach figurative painting and drawing, and write about representational art. My Doctoral dissertation was about order in prehistoric British sacred spaces and how this could be applied to contemporary art-making practices. I'm particularly interested in the aesthetics of representational art in the 21st Century, and in understanding allegorical symbolism.
I am Conference Chair of The Representational Art Conference, which takes place in Ventura, CA. (Visit http://trac2014.org to learn more about it).
