Circuit nonidealities are parameterized in the simulator by using behavioral models for the loop filter and comparator. The accuracy and speed of the approach are shown to compare favorably with those of circuit simulation. It is shown that the

Bipolar transistors are proposed as the switching element to achieve a low voltage drop at high currents without requiring large die area. Two types of IC circuit breakers which are compatible with standard CMOS processing have been studied, and test circuits have been fabricated. The first type of IC circuit breaker uses a lateral bipolar transistor. Measurements of current injected into the substrate indicate that the small fraction of substrate current which escapes from the guard rings around the region of the bipolar transistors is far below that which could result in latchup

We present synthesis results for a large suite of circuit benchmarks and show that, when compared to prior ap- proaches, ASTRX/OBLX can synthesize high-performance cir- cuits with up to 3 orders of magnitude less initial design

A simulator is developed in which various nonidealities could be modeled. A simulation study on the 2nd and the 3rd-order modulators with single and multi-bit quantization is presented. A novel method called complementary pulse density modulation (CPDM) is proposed to realize linear multi-bit feedback using micro actuators

In this method the authors formulate analog circuit design as a constrained nonlinear optimization problem. They pay particular attention to power supply rejection (PSR), because of its importance in mixed analog-digital systems, and study tradeoffs between PSR and other performance parameters

Scaling of single gain stage and two-stage operational amplifier small-signal performance parameters is examined under the constant field (CE), quasi-constant voltage (QCV), and constant voltage (CV) scaling rules; in addition to classical full scaling, other practical analog scaling options such

It is shown that simple analog circuits can be used to find the median. Their compactness allows their use in parallel systems, such as pixel plane processing, yielding enormously effective computation rates. In addition, their analog nature allows them to be easily incorporated into
