Add a new step aimed at already-published-elsewhere own works

Please insert a new "Step 4. Has your work been published before ?", like this  :

Dealing with files like File:AuthsubDiagram.png, where we need a confirmation E-mail in order to ensure that the uploader is truly a Google employee, and not merely someone pretending to be a Google employee, is quite time-consuming, so it is better if people are told the good steps from the beginning, rather than afterwards, after they have uploaded the file, leaving some doubt on whether this is a rightful copy or not.

What would help to clarify licensing

If for own work there was a page or section with the same lingo in the same order. I'm still trying to figure out how "Multi-license with CC-BY-SA-3.0 and GFDL (recommended)" is related to similar but not exactly alike categories in Commons:Licensing and Commons:Copyright_tags. I have a couple dozen good photos ready to be inserted in articles to upload. Thanks. Carolmooredc (talk) 15:14, 12 August 2009 (UTC)

I think the Commons is going to {{CC-BY-SA-3.0}} as the recommended license. I am not sure. If so, I don't know why {{GFDL}} is still in the license selector. I will put an {{Editprotected}} tag at the top of this section. Maybe an admin can remove the GFDL licenses from the license selector: MediaWiki:Licenses/ownwork

Wikimedia changed there license in a dual license with GFDL and CC-BY-SA so our recommended license should be both those licensing I guess, its better to bring this up in the village pump instead of just changing it. Huib talk 09:24, 5 September 2009 (UTC)

please add a qualifier to respect WikiMedia General Counsel's statement. I suggest:

"Exception: Pictures of people in costumes of copyrighted and/or trademarked characters are not banned.[2]"

It should help this happen less.

Multiple image upload from Flick as own work

Hi all! So what is the best way or tool to upload multiple images which are one's own work, from Flickr (or maybe Picasa)?

The Bugzilla is inactive; the bug was not replicated, so it's pretty much defunct. Anyway, it wasn't a good reason to remove it in the first place. --theMONO 00:24, 29 March 2011 (UTC)

Automatically adding user categories

Is there any way to have the edit form come up with a category automatically added? About 90% of my uploads go under Category:Photographs by User:Pi.1415926535, and it would make my life easier to have a link to an upload form with that category already filled in.
