English: Heinrich Schütz was a German composer and organist, generally regarded as the most important German composer before Johann Sebastian Bach and is often considered to be one of the most important composers of the 17th century along with Claudio Monteverdi.

This picture of 1633 was a long time believed to show Heinrich Schütz, painted by Rembrandt, which nowadays both is assumed as untrue. This picture should not be used uncommented as a portrait of Schütz.
