Abstract

RET is an important area within software engineering that focuses on how RE interacts with Testing and vice versa in order to better support the overall software engineering process and improve software quality and requirements compliance. While requirements specify the expectations of the stakeholders on a software system, testing should ensure these expectations are met. Indeed, in many areas, such as in the automotive and telecommunications domains, certification of the system functionalities and qualities depends in part on demonstrating that the system has been thoroughly tested with respect to the requirements.

The RET workshop highlights the importance of this cross-disciplinary research area and aims to develop a body of knowledge for RET. The workshop provides a forum where researchers from different research communities and practitioners can meet, exchange ideas and best practices for aligning RE and testing and discuss important directions for future work. RET topics include processes, practices, artifacts, methods, techniques, tools - as well as softer aspects like the communication between roles in the engineering process.

A requirements modelling language to facilitate avionics software verification and certification

Engineering avionics software is a complex task. Even more so due to their safety-critical nature. Aviation authorities require avionics software suppliers to provide appropriate evidence of achieving DO-178C objectives for the verification of outputs ...

A software tool to convert requirements to test cases

As software test design is a manual process, test cases are generally prepared manually. We use a structured method to extract business requirements and feed these requirements in a tool (TestAlgo). The tool translates these requirements and ...

Automata based test generation with SpecPro

In this paper we introduce a new automata based test generation algorithm implemented in SpecPro, our library for supporting analysis and development of formal requirements in cyber-physical systems. We consider specifications written in Linear Temporal ...
