2025: Two weeks of intensive training and networking

Presented by CIFAR and Amii in collaboration with Mila and the Vector Institute

Each year, the CIFAR Deep Learning + Reinforcement Learning (DLRL) Summer School brings together graduate students, post-docs and professionals to cover the foundational research, new developments, and real-world applications of deep learning and reinforcement learning.

Co-hosted by CIFAR and Amii, the prestigious training opportunity will be held this year in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada — a rich and diverse ecosystem of AI innovation.

Over the course of 12 intensive days, participants will learn from Canada CIFAR AI Chairs and other globally-renowned AI experts across industry and academia. They will join talks about cutting-edge topics in machine learning, and gain access to networking sessions, social events, and a dynamic career fair.

“What struck me the most was the commitment of the DLRL summer school organizers to foster inclusive AI. As a member of a minority visible group, I was fortunate to receive the CIFAR Inclusive AI scholarship that enabled me to participate fully in this enriching program. Throughout the summer school, I delved into various aspects of machine learning, spanning optimization, computer vision, natural language processing, as well as ethical AI and AI safety. The breadth and depth of knowledge covered were truly impressive.”
